Tomorrow is the Maiden of the Combat P-51 with retracts and the Saito .40. I will take some photos before, in case it dies on the maiden.

I added a bit of weight to the tail even though it was perfectly balanced with the battery in the rear fuselage, but I am worried about nosing over on our winter-rough grass air field.

2.5" 3-bladed GP spinner, black, with MA 10x7 prop.

I noticed that there are 7 exhaust ports. V-14 Merlin! I could have cut 1 off each side, but didn't.

Definitely! Gonna replace my GP Spitfire I lost last summer ($%^# Spektrum AR500); wanting to put the Eflite retracts in the wing if they'll fit...
That is the receiver that cost me my GP Combat P-47. Dang shame.
I've upgraded to the AR6200.

The retracts fit fine in the GP Spitfire. Bad switch cost me that plane.

Had to throttle up and let go of the tail to get enough air over the elevator on high rates to keep the tail down on roll-out. After it got rolling, I switched to low rates. Took off and flew quickly!

Decided to land it on it's belly as I feared a nose over experience. No issues with the belly landing. My buddy took some flight photos, will post those soon. FUN PLANE!

Well I just finished reading this thread. I bought the Mustang used and it should be here in a couple days. It has on OS 25 LA in it. I have always flown electric until now, any tips to help me out with my first glow?
