Will it fly?
1 Attachment(s)
I want to start flying full contact combat with some freinds, and I decidedcheap edfs would be the way to go. I didn't want to buy an overpriced chinese plane, so I use ms paint to draw one of my own design. It is a dual edf design, with dual verticle stabs. all of the electronics would be ithe the bact to hel balance it.

GOOD LUCK!!

RE: Will it fly?
I would probably make the elevons a little larger, or potentially add elevators right behind the EDFs and leave the ailerons where they are.
Good luck with your experiment. Rafael |
RE: Will it fly?
Those elevons will have to be full span..........and lose that landing gear!!!

RE: Will it fly?
I know it's a top view.........it looks like a set of landing gear between the rudders. I see gear, collars, but no tires!!

RE: Will it fly?
years ago i built a bunch of pink foam 48" ws .40 combat wings, full span elevons no rudders just twin fins the egine was mounted in the wing prop flush with Leading edge center chord was 20" tips were 8" fully symetrical airfoil and a bit over 2" thick. the spar (1/4" door skin) lined up with the wing tip leading edge and it was the cg. they werent very fast but boy did they handle well and they would inverted flat spin (secret combat tactic ..play dead then attack) at the time they only cost $20 to build the airframe

If this design has an airfoil, the rudders will be needed for yaw...to keep it flying straight. If the airfoil is a flat design, those rudders must be there to turn the beast!!!:D:D |

It is a flat airfoil, and the rudders are for increased combat manuverability. I made the elevons bigger.
