scale combat airfoil 2524 design

Hello,

I have several pictures of WWII fighter planes. I want design and build a plane with foam. My plan to build BF 109. How can I find a airfoil shape for that plane?

What is best weight for that 2524 scale plane?

hope eveyone can help me.

Thanks.

Andy

Are you talking about 2548? I haven't heard of 2524... I have a collection of TurboCAD drawings for alot of WWII fighters already created, including the BF-109 scaled for 2548...

I wouldn't try to get too scale with airfoils, many of them just work well at R/C reynolds numbers. Your better off using a SD7062, E203 or E205, or a plain Clark Y. All work good at our speeds...

yes, 2548. engine 25 and 48 inch wing span.

Codernaut,
Google for "Profili" it is a large program that includes 1,100 airfoils. You can download a limited version without charge and for a very low fee can get access to all it will do. It is a very impressive program.

There are hundreds of airfoils (including those listed by thojo) here:

Another site is John Hunt's "Foils" site. It has a limited number of airfoils but you can download coordinate files as DMon mentioned from the UUIC site. Google for John Hunt Foils, it is freeware and quite good.
