"scale" and SSC?

Are there any SSC aircraft modeled after actual warbirds? Obviously this would not be scale, but it would be interesting to see a SSC mustang or hellcat.

Multicasting,
In the second year of SSC a number of folks flew "warbirds" which included P51, P39, He100, KI-61s, Corsairs, Bearcats, Spitfires and others. These planes were heavier and hence could not turn as well and were later abandoned in favor of "Open" style designs.

They were not true scale. They had much larger than scale wings although the fuselages generally were recognizable for the plane that was being modeled.

Here are some examples:

RE: "scale" and SSC?

Hi all,

I think that there are some kits that are more semi scale than scale. They fly great as some of them are light enough to use as a slope flyer. Add an engine and your in for SSC. not very scale though but you easilly will tell its close to one of the scale ones, Coz of the slower speed of SSC compared to 2548 the wings anre made longer than usuall to enable more lift and carry the plane better. Below is one hell of a kit.

Other Kits I've seen scratch built form Coroplast. where again scale to a Mig 7 aircraft. This same plane and plan was used for Both Slope and 2548. It performed very well
