Are there airplanes made for dog fighting?

Yep, dogfighting is exactly what we do. Some of us tie streamers to the tails of our planes and try to cut them off the other guys. Other forms of combat include full contact slope or zagi combat and combat using electronic devices.

What we don't do is fire projectiles of any sort.

i have also read that there are3 bomb drops for rc planes but i can't find them. any one have a link to them

I've never used the electronic gadgets myself. There are 2 that I know of.

The company that makes the Firebird line of planes has something they call the Sonic Combat Module that plugs in to some of their airplanes. The airplanes are low-performance electrics, but from what I hear, they are a lot of fun.

The other device is a bit more expensive, but designed to work with any RC setup. I don't have the contact info for it, but I know there was at least one thread about it on here (or, maybe, the RCCA forums at RCCombat.com, I forget). Anyway, it looked neat, but I've no idea how it worked, and it was a bit expensive.

Bomb drops and such aren't part of combat competitions. That's more a fun-fly thing, so this is the wrong forum for that.

Any of the Aerobird line of electrics is already setup to run the sonic combat module. Likewise, so are several other Hobbyzone/Parkzone planes including the Stryker (which I totally recommend). The only problem with their combat module is you must generally use the plane's stock radio and electrics. I run aftermarket electronics in my current stryker and there is no provision for hooking that module up to my Hitek RX that I can find. Still, we routinely use them at Raeford DZ on our much-slower Extremes and Challengers. We go full-contact here at our field.

ADZ06 Have you ever checked out www.spadtothebone.com there are dogfighters there that you can build yourself for a few bucks with your own gear(rc/motor) I dont want to steer you away from dogfighters in the balsa form but the drawback is the durability of them. The spads use corogated plastic which you can pretty much step on your own wing without destruction. Needless to say when you crash your not out of alot of $. Ive flown both balsa and coro and like both, but for combat your gonna trash a balsa plane quick. They take a while to build and repair vs spad dogfighter build time of 3-6 hours. If you choose to build a spad doggie, build it to specs on your first one, then go crazy on your second. Have a blast and go shoot down some doggies.

Electronic Gadgets... www.air-commander.com interfaces the sonic combat module to any rc.
