I was wondering what a good combat plane was. I would like it to take standard servos, but I have three HS-81's in case. I also have a .40 size engine, but its probably to big (could trade it). I have heard of the Funbat are there any others that are cheap and easy to fly?

It really depends on where you plan on flying, and who you are going to fly with. Find out what classes are flown in your area, and build for that.

I was just wondering if the funbat was a good plane to just have a good time with. It is a combat plane so I thoght it would be able to handle a rough landing or two.

the funbats fly ok, but are not very durable. I would check out the spad site. The HOR is very durable.

Spads are probably the cheapest plane you can build.

If you expect to fly a lot and take some abuse, an Avenger, Bandit or Predator X are state of the art. All should take .25 to .40 engines, althought the Skoal Bandit is a bit heavy.

I find it funny how people look to the initial cost of a plane as "cheap" and then forget that some of the more expensive kits actually last so long that they are MUCH less expensive to own.

Once you learn about metal geared servos, you're well on your way to this lesson.

If you like to build/repair, I guess it's a non-issue.
