Require Indoor combat model

All

I wanted to throw out to the combat jockeys a line to see if anyone has seen something along the lines of a small EPP zaggi (home build is acceptable) that could be used for indoor combat. We have a problem where the indoor venue in Canberra is about the size of a toilet cubicle and as a result the Chopper guys are taking over the scene. The only other successful aircraft being flown are large and slow hangar rats. We have decided that we would like to have a bit of fun and so need something that is light and almost unbreakable. So.... any thoughts?

Hey perryb,

Iam from Perth and am an importer of small epp models.
I have some su31's that are fairly unbreakable that would suit what you want.
They made of epp foam and are easily built.
It is also easily repaired.
Please contact me if your interested.

cheers,
toothpick

How about the hyperflea. its cheap and just about indestructable. I will be trying mine for indoor flying soon. Have to convince others to get one for combat. And the best thing is you dont need streamers, just knock each other out the sky, pick it up and away you go again.

I'm curious, are you mandating that the indoor combat planes be "non tractor" designs (ie, prop in back like Zagi, or prop in middle like hyperflea?)

I think you'll find they're a lot more combat friendly because they don't inflict or receive as much damage due to prop strikes. The IFO is a special case due to the carbon loop bumper, but still manages to suck a lot of tail parts into the prop arc while attempting to combat. The lite flite bug also in that category and is feared similarly by other slow flyers.

Best yet would be a really light small EDF if you can find one that turns tight enough.
