XR Combat wing assembly

1 Attachment(s)

Dear Brothers:

I recently purchased an EEP foam 48" combat wing from combatwings.com. My first glider

I am finding it difficult to insert the carbon fiber rod that connects the wing halves.

It seems that the holes are not drilled deep enough to accept the entire rod. If I try to force the issue the rod goes in at an angle.

Did the mfg not drill the holes deep enough or am I being dumb.

Any tips appreciated

Thanks all

mfs, if you can insert the spar 90% of the way, that should be good enough.
You could get an exact fitting length of brass tube, chuck it into a drill motor, then ream the inside edge of the tube with an Xacto blade until it's sharp. Now you've got a tool that can deepen the holes in the wing panels if you're careful.
