I haven't flown any of my other airplanes this summer, it has been combat models all the way. I did want to kick it up a notch so I built this scratch B25 foamie for some GS combat my club has been doing along with 2610. So far both engines have been rock steady and it handles like a dream. Anyone else built some larger models for combat?

HOLY SAMOLIANS!

That's one huge model to be hand launching!

What engines are you running in it? Is it 1/12th scale?

On another note, how'd ya make out with your Ta-152H?

I been pondering a b-25 for ssc. Just trying to figure out a simplified fuel system and throttle set up. Sweet. How much does it weigh? Whats the wing span. Over 60" your allowed more weight. I wrote this last year with Lou Melacon help. Now I have to build one!
Twins up to and including a 50 inch span, 4 lbs.

Twins with greater than 50 inch span up to and including 60 inch span, 4.5 lbs.

Twins over 60 inch span, 5 lbs.

Cool B-25!
Here is a pic of my PBY "BlackCat" Catalina next to my FW TA 152 for scale. I havn't worked on it in about three or four months. The wingspan on my Catalina is 98" :D

Ok....... I have to let the cat out of the bag.......that is a doctored photo that I couldn't resist posting. In that photo I was actually launching my TA and my friend took the photo and did some fancy photo editing. Looks pretty convincing doesn't it?
Anyway, my TA is by far my favorite ribbon snatcher right now, what a breeze to fly. I had to replace the wing already due to a mid-air with another JKA kit (the Tank, uhmmm, I mean the Jug).

Bummer. Nice job woth the PhotoShop, it had me fooled.

What was the cause of the Ta's problem before? Twisted wing?

No, his nose cone punched me in the center of the wing from below and basically snapped it in half. It was beyond repair so I built another. Have you tried flying your TA ?

On the B25, how in the world could I hand launch it with that tail section? For reference on size I'm 6'5" tall, imagine how big that plane would be in reality. It would be fun however to do some GS combat if the airframes were cheap enough.......

Not the midair damage, the problem you had before with the diving in left turns. What was the culprit?

I finally had good weather to fly my Ta yesterday - WOW! What a sweet machine! On rails and handles like a pattern plane. LOVE IT!

Ohhh yeah, that was actually my FW190A. It was my soda pop bottle cowl, and it took a long while to figure that out. It was distorted in flight with a bow in the left side. Basically it created a huge left side drag that would get exaggerated in left hand turns.....I noticed it on a flyby and the little light went off in my head. I'm just glad the mystery is solved.

Is there such a thing?

Great photo editing!!
Is there such a thing as giant scale combat??

Big foamies with twin .40-.47's all up weight of less than 8 lbs.

Just a thought...
