you cant modify mamba max speed controllers too run 6s lipo. Youll have to buy another speed controller and i dont think the 5700 will last

Default RE: funny car

I drag race a few different RC cars including a GMS funny Car and a few dragsters. Forget about running 6s lipo in a Funny car because it might sound cool but it won't work. The fastest cars are dragsters on 4s lipo . A funny car is to short for 6s , 4s would be the most. The cars speeds are not limited by the power they make , they are limited by traction and the ability to keep the car from lifting off the track. The fastest RC dragster around is the car formerly owned by Bill from Litespeed and it has gone 1.27 seconds over the 132 feet. The car runs a motor smaller in size then a mamba plus 4s I think. Entire car also weighs under 1000 grams . Have you ever driven a lipo RC drag car before?. Even with 3s I am adding weight in certain locations to get my dragsters running well . Only 1 car at our club runs 6s and he has a low kv Neu motor about 3 inches long in a car with a 30 inch wheelbase. He has run some quick passes over 100mph but has also nearly written it off more then a few times. He is the best RC driver I have seen ( sponsered RC touring car racer) but at these speeds you cant correct the car in time to avoid a smash
My advice is if you havn't driven a Drag RC before start with a 2s pack or a 6 cell nimh . Then go 3S. I am running 1.5's on 3S 7700 mamba with the default ESC settings turned down so there is still heaps more potential in it.
