You don't specify what other brands you are considering, but I would jump on the Spektrum.
I have had the 2.0, and it is a good radio. Spektrum was the first, with the 2.4 Ghz, and basically owns the market. If someone else has a 2.4, they most likely pay Spektrum for the privelege.
I run a DX3R now, and won't go to another, unless Spektrum comes out with a TX that beats it.

Bind it out-of-the-box? If you mean bindreceivers to it, then yes.
Be aware, you will only be able to use DSM1 receivers with the DX2.0. DSM2 receivers WILLNOT bind to older TX's like the DX2.0.

The fastest you can afford. You may want to put a little more into that amount.
I find servos .15 or faster is good, but that is a subjective thing. I just find fast steering response a plus.

how about the specktrum dx3e is it any good
how about the specktrum dx3e is it any good
The DX3e is good, basement, but good. There aren't as many adjustments on the DX3e as there are on the DX2.0, but it will bind DSM2 receivers.
The choice is yours, more adjustments, or DSM2 capability.
