Ok I have done alot of driftin with my real car ( tell the cops caught me lol) but I have never really drifted with a rc. I have a Xmod for right now how could I get that to drift? I try and throw it sideways and then correct the steering but it never works. Is it even possible for a Xmod to drift?

I've got a Skyline with the Stage 2 motor (red gear set), and about all I can get it to do in the sliding department is over-steer. While this comes in handy for getting around a tight corner it is not exactly drifting. I've heard people say that if you put the four wheel drive upgrade on it helps for drifting ... I tried it and the car was underpowered, but that was before I got the Stage 2 motor, so it may be different if you have both. So it may take a higher power motor or more voltage (more cells) to get the car to drift without doing something drastic like taping your tires or using plastic tires/bare rims - in my opinion if you've got to mess with the traction that much, is it really drifting?
On that note however, at one point I did try to put 'Scotch' tape on the tires to decrease their traction. This showed some promise, but since I was only rear wheel drive all I could get were donuts. I like to drive circuits the 'normal' way too, so I am wary of doing anything major to play around with drifting ... I don't want to have to perform major surgery every time I want to switch between the two. That's just my thoughts on the subject.

PS - This forum (RC Universe as a whole) seems to be fairly down on X-Mods (that's just an observation, now don't go jumping all over me ... cause I know that'll spark some anger in some of you guys), you might try [link=http://www.xmodrc.com]www.xmodrc.com[/link] though it is a bit more informal (and seems to have a lower mean age) than RC Universe.

i have an xmod rsx with stage 2 motor, 4wd and a 5 cell mod. now, drifting is feasible, but not exactly too enjoyable because most of the time, its skidding and not drifting.

ok I have stage 2 motor, 5th cell and for the AWD kit I did it special I put 2 stock diffs in instead of the 1's that come with the kit (SHHHH) to me it makes the car fast as a 2wd but the handlin of a 4wd, really cool. AND by the way I still cant get it to drift but ill keep tryin!

You asked about XMOD Drifting? I have been doing it for a while. The trick is Kyosho Mini Z componets. I have a Skyline with the AWD, steel ball bearings, Drift Spec. tires, Mini Z 1200 motor from F-1 car Mini Z, blue gear 2 stage and custom camber plates front and rear. That will get you hooked up! Twin turbo by Kyosho is the next step. SPOOL 'EM!
