Default TC3 drifter

Well, christmas is coming, and I wanted to build a sweet electric car to race on the weekends at my local track and drift around on my driveway during the week. Just wanted to know what motor you would get for this and what you would change if you were going to build one of these. thanks for the help

P.S. the glow plug and gas tank are for my t maxx, so ignore them

Umm, somehow my list got screwed up and it won't let me correct it, so what I have on it is a factory kit team assosiated tc3, hpi tires and rims, Hi-tec agressor radio and a hitec 645-mg servo. does anyone know what a good bl motor for this would be and also I would like to know how fast that it would go with that motor. thanks for any help

with a novak bl engine you would not go faster than a normal 13 turn engine

I have a Novak SuperSport 5800 brushless motor in my TC3 and it's been great so far. Way more power than I'll ever use for drifting and there's no maintenance to keep it running well. I'd not go back to brushed after my experience with this motor. You can get it from tower hobbies for around $200 for the system. Not a bad deal really.

I kinda wish I got the Factory Team TC3 instead of my racer kit but I plan on just piecing it out with only the upgrades I need. At any rate it's a great car and I think the brushless novak motor is a perfect match. I run a 26 tooth pinion gear by the way, which is almost the highest you'd want to run. The batteries heat up a fair bit but nothing too bad. It still spins out from the start with rubber so I guess going lower isn't gonna really help in that respect. The internal gear ratio is 2.5 and the spur is 72t in case you need to calculate what pinion to buy with your car. It doesn't include one.
