RE: NEW CHEAP DRIFT CAR COMES WITH DRIFT TIRES RTR
Hey RX-7 Drifter, I plan on getting one and putting a p2k pro motor in it, too, but will I have to do anything else to the car(aside from locking differentials if needed[or if it even has differentials] and PVC/e-tape tires)?

And how do I change the gear if I change the motor?
And do you have AIM? It would be a lot easier to chat that way...

I don't see what the problem is if somebody wants a toy grade car that's you can modified/upgrade. Your suspension settings are fixed and yad, yad, yad. But it has a 540 style motor and with a nice upgrade there it could be decently fast for a "toy grade" car.
Not everybody wants a full blown I gotta adjust it 20 times to get it right R/C
My friend has a TFR Tamyia and it NEVER sees the track, EVER. That IMHO is a waste of money when a standard issue and very basic Tamyia car could have done the job.
To each his own but its nice to see Tyco with a decently priced car.

Tyco is a descent company for the mass production. They do also sell parts too. These are alot better then new bright. I have one tyco that runs and it is fast for a toy grade car. Nice to TYCO getting into the craze. Just my 2cents.

Lionel! Haven't seen you for a while. I've been meaning to get a hold of you for some of your carbon fiber decals. Yea, I post here every now and then. Just trying to get people to join DRC since the RCU drift section is hella noob! And we are the pros damnit! LOL.

You guys are tough, calling us newbs... >.> I'm sorry for not being hardcore enough, sheesh.
Anyways, I just got mine in today. It is awsome. I love this thing man... it's so fun! Not to mention not spending like $300 on a TT-01 + electronics... I just need somewhere where there's more space to actually drift...

I can't say this without being to nice, or too mean, but everyone saying that is stupid, YOU are the stupid ones. The reason you do that, is by doing that, lots of air comes in, then has to compress, and blast out the end, thereby expanding and boosting your cars speed. It is hard to explain [and probably hard to understand] so don't try and say "duhhh, no that doesn't work". If the spoiler is too small, it slows your can down, if it is huge, your going to have to break the 300 mph mark to see results.

RE: NEW CHEAP DRIFT CAR COMES WITH DRIFT TIRES RTR
I know what you're trying to say, but it just doesn't really compute. How exactly would the air that is compressed between the wing and trunk provide a sort of "boost?" The air in that space has no real difference in velocity versus the rest of the air. What people are saying is that, with the wing positioned in that manner, the rear end would be lifted off the ground, theoretically that is. It's all about drag and lift when it comes to wings. When the forward edge of the wing is tilted down, there is more air pressure on top of the wing plane, pushing it down, hence DOWNFORCE. When the forward edge of the wing is tilted up, there is more air pressure on the bottom of the wing, pushing it up. Think of the ailerons on an airplane. Oh well, that's enough of my ranting.
