What would I need to do/get to turn a Tamiya TB02 into a drifter?

Dont' buy expensive drift tires. Trying wrapping them up with electric tape. And if you still can't drift, get some ABS.

OK, I'm gonna be a smart ass about this, but they way you started this thread kinda makes one assume you only have the chassis kit. So here's what you'll need...

-Motor (27T preferred. 19T is OK.)
-Electronic Speed Control
-Batteries
-Servo
-Radio receiver
-Radio transmitter
-Drift tires (ABS, PVC, PE, taped tires, Yokomo Zero-One, Pit Shimizu Dunlop drift radials, Kawada drift radials, etc.)
-Polycarbonate paint for the body
-A place to drift
-Time
-Effort
-Practice

Yea, that was over the top, but some people just don't get it, so why not get the message out to the other drifting newbies. Haha. Hope this helps at all. If you got anymore questions, post here or join my forum. URL is in my signature.

If you were grip racing then no, but since you want to go drifting then yes

i got my TB-02 and i have been drifting with it for a bit now. All you have to do is wrap all your tires in electrical tape and it will work amazingly. If you want you can lock your rear diffs (i recommend it, just take the diff balls out of the ball diff) and you could buy ABS or PVC or special drift tires... although i don't really see a point in spending money on pipe (even if its really cheap) because chances are u already have elec tape and its free and works just as well.

And my car is completely stock 540 can motor, rooster esc, tamiya stock tires, and it drifts and if i take the tape off its super fast, or fast enough for a stock car. :P
