need help guys , my focus drifter is bodyless , i was drifting with a friend and slid too near his daughter ( my fault as we had been chasing them around all afternoon) , it frightened her and she jumped out of the way but landed on the roof of my car [
], result multiple cracks along the near side roof in to the near side window pillar , resulting in a really weak shell thats knackered , lhs sold us some of what he called special resin to fix it , applied it following the lhs guys instructions but when it set it melted the paint away from the bodyshell so its just peeled away as it dried , what i need help with , does anyone have any repair ideas , as i cant afford a new shell , as it is my second shell since christmas as the first one was ruined by a lhs salesperson selling me the wrong paint , hope someone can help because i got a tt01 thats not getting used at the minute , and the weather is just getting good enough to be able to use it outside again , the pics below show the damage pic 1 i have placed the piece of repair resin that came off as it hardened in place to try and show the cracks more clearly
thanks for any help in advance

you wont like my answer but....
there is not alot you can do..
you could get some filler maybe or a paintable tape, double sided maybe and try to touch the crack in but you wont lose the crease in the shell..., unless you are a 100% gunius with re-moulding it back...
if you fix it post a pic, be intresting to see how it works out..

This is why I keep show shells/wheels for when I have cars that just sit for a while. I like too look at em
Then I have basher shells that look good, but I don't care if I muck up. As for a fix I'd say just get rid of the paint that peeled, mask off the rest of the car and give that area a respray. Be sure to clean it really good then sand it a little then wash/alcohol rinse touchup spray. Then do another shell you can keep nice and see if you can make it even better than the one you have

well as far as paint goes, u can repaint a white in the spot, should look decent......and as far as strength goes, the side of my body was cracked through, and i dont have cash for a new body either, so i ended up using an old window screen, cut it so it was bigger then the cracks/damaged area, and glued it with CA and i think i may have tried another glue, but i didnt have any epoxy at the time, so epoxy may work even better. but it seemed to strengthen it up nicely (of course ull still see cracks......)

well guys just thought i would post a quick update on my shell problem . i cleaned up the affected area , and mixed a large amount of epoxy and just poured it on to the affected area , initialy opening the crack a little to let some epoxy through , the heat that was generated while the epoxy hardened was really hot , hope it helps with the adhesion to the shell , its dried to be about 5mm thick , so i have took a few pics to show the repair , i have painted the reverse side of the epoxy to try blend it a little , hope it holds up will post in a couple of days , thanks for any advice that was left for me , and to rc luke who advised it would polish out [sm=lol.gif]

If you run by your LHS, they should have some shoo-goo and some little strips that people use for fixing stuff like that. And white paint should've filled that spot nicely. ON second thought DON'T use YOUR LHS. They're clearly crap. Shoo-goo shouldn't eat away the paint. And TS or RS paint is what you should use. ( i think i use TS, but I have to look cuz i got both..for wheels, wings, accessories, etc..)
Looks nice so far. But for future reference, always keep a basher shell or jsut decide that your shell will be a basher. My pristine S15 wasn't gonna be a basher when I first started drifting. Then, after trying to get all J.R. Gitten with my speed and angles, I realized it's best to jsut have basher shells. I have some shelf queens now, but gimme about a month, once this craptastic NY weather clears up. they'll be shelved NO MORE.
