hi m8 welcome to rc drifting
yeah the tt-01 is a good starter car it will drive pretty much outta the box best to use some pvc/abs for the wheels or try elecy tape first to try it out, theres plenty of upgrades for the tt-01 out there to buy i would run it standard to get used to drifting and stay with it bro it takes time but you will learn quick the more pratice you put in.
goodluck to you [8D]

get the TT01D, it comes with bearings and adjustable tie rods, the TT01 doesnt, and your still gonna have to get bearings away.

I think the only bearings you need are on the steering rack. I need bearings for my TA05 too.

Going the TT-01 D eliminates the need to go the Bearings, My Mates was Ball raced.
(He probably got lucky as his was from E-bay) I think the D still needs the Alloy Propshaft..

Either car is good for drifting. My first TT-01 was bone stock with only drift tires.

Carbon fibre upper frame isnt essential..

I would prefer to spend the money on a Better ESC or Motor..

Get the drift spec. That way, when people ask you what it is, you can say "Drift Spec". That's really my only reasoning.

About a 19x2 is what i'd recomend right now i'm running a 13 turn its fast but i did mannage to send my esc into thermal shutdown before i vented my shell. low speed + high revs + no airflow on a hot day NOT GOOD!

Can the TT01 be equipped with a two speed?

How fast is one of these cars stock?

I know we are talking drifting and speed has nothing to do with it, but I am wondering if I get one, will I be able to rip it around like any other on-road car when using normal tires?

you dont need a two speed, and yes you can still rip around on rubber tires
yeah my tt01 is still stock.

you should try to grow with your car.
like if you master the current setup, time for a few upgrades. master the next setup, then more upgrades, etc.

Hows that workin out for ya? I read that these cars are pretty much ready to drift, at least the tt01d model. Which seems the same except for stiffer shocks and drift tires. I'm thinking about ordering the TT-01r kit this friday. Any suggetsions on optional components, or specific actions to take during the build process?

I see that these cars run a 6 Cell flat pack. Can a regular 6 cell pack fit in there with the batteries side by side? Thats all I have and would hate to buy new batteries. I have 4 great packs for my aquacraft SV27 boat that I would love to make sime use out of.

hello... i just got a Lexus SC430 Tt-01. I am 100 percent new to this hobby and i want to know how to get my Tt-01 to drift. can you guys give me some suggestions for upgrades i should get in order for it to do some nice drifts. Ive heard about a.b.s tires but i was wondering if i needed a new motor for more torque, or should i just keep it stock?

Thanks alot please responde
