Default More E10 issues

Well since my E10 has intermittent Front Wheel Drive (Drift Conversion so the Motor is front mounted)
I decided to Replace the Diff,Bevel Gear and the Little Collar Bearing thats slots over the Bevel gear on the front end and now...

ITS FULL TIME RWD!!!!![:@]

This is annoying me to no end..
and before you say " Did you rebuild it properly" YES!!! It has been rebuilt more times then I care to think of...

The Bevel gear and Diff dont even get contact with each other!

This car has been a pain in the bum from day one..

The Saturn 27T is just a Silver can motor with a sticker on it.. and when you upgrade the E10 to a More powerful motor, the Motor mount wont allow you to get proper mesh!

HPI If you are Listening....

GET US AN ALLOY PROPSHAFT KIT.. LARGER BEVEL GEARS and some way to stop the Collar bearing from popping Out!

oh thank god I didn't buy an E10 yet despite all the bad reviews I came across on the forums. I was tempted to try that roller for $80 off tower but now after hearing your pain... I'm def gonna wait for a rev. 2 or an SS.

What's up HPI? This is unusual that your going down the tube. BTW why isn't there an electric kit anymore? Did they pull out of the competitive touring car game? I also wish there was a Sprint 2 SS Kit. At least something a step up above the E10 that's kitted.

and the Cyclone S is a DREAM compared to the E10.. I have the Cyclone S and use it for Stock Class racing and it can hold its own up agaisnt a TA-05..

Never really thought of drifting it though.. Might get another specifically for drifting though...

I know Hot Bodies is together with HPI and I am aware of the Cyclone kit. However I was hoping something shaft drive for parking lot use and drift durability. So is HPI not going to bring anymore electric kits?

I kinda liked how the Sprint 2 looked with those 3mm belts (my alternative to shaft). Not sure how the cyclone holds up for unprepared surfaces.

well i bought a e10 roller for 80 bucks and i wasnt to impressed with it. after hearing all the problems with adding more power i decided to leave it stock for now and just make the changes to convert it to rally. when it breaks ill take everything off it i kan use then toss it. i also have a sprint2 and it is way better than the e10. i use my sprint2 for drifting and love it. if you mod the diff cases on the sprint2 you can drive it on unpreped surfaces. so if your looking to get a e10 to slap a brushless system in it just wait til they release a alloy driveshaft and fix the small things. if you going to leave it stock and want something to mess around with the e10 is it. if you want to upgrade and make a fast car get a sprint2 or cyclone

Too bad it's such a bad car. HPI's quality is usually quite good.

when you reassemble the front end, don't follow the instructions in the book exactly. it tells you to put the suspension mount between the two halves of the diff box, but you have to put the two halves together first and then put the suspension mount in front. if you don't, the diff can slide around and not contact the bevel gear from the drive shaft. i hope this fixes your problem about the RWD. also, make sure the plastic bushings still have the hole in the center, mine wore through and basically moved the hole 1-2mm to the side (melting plastic, then resolidifying). i replaced them with bearings all the way around, and i have a 13x2 motor and no problems with my e10.

Nah It didn't fix it..

Still had the Collar Bearing spitting out and then there was the Mesh between the Pinion and the Spur gear, I upgraded to a TZ Motor and the TZ would Torque the Mesh out on Acceleration regardless of how tightly the Motor mount was secured...

so in the End.. I stripped all the Parts useable off it and Binned it..

TT-01 Never let me down.. Sprint 2 has never let me down, Cyclone S, HBX Bonzer have all performed far better then the E10 ever did..

I suppose it is what you get for buying a New Chassis without any Hop ups.. oh well Lesson learned..
