between 19-23 turns work best m8 depending on ur ESC of course
most kits will drift with the standard 27turn motors as long as u use pvc or drift wheel tho [8D]

19t is a good motor for beginners. it has good power to learn with and has enough power to be competitive when u get good.

Personally I like the punchy feel of a 23T motor. Gear it up and you can hold your own against the 19t's. plus they don't get all that warm.

The Tamiya TZ and RZ motors are awesome for drifting..

Any Epic 27T tagged motor will also slide with ease..

Yes, it depends how you gear it, I mean I have seen some pretty quick cars running the Silvercan motors from TT-01's hitting just on 40Kph..

It Helps to know what chassis we are dealing with in order to suggest a suitable motor...

For a HPI Sprint 2 then a Team Orion Method R 19x2T does a good job

For a TT-01 : A Epic 27T Tagged Motor will do great!!

For a TL-01 : a Tamiya TZ Motor is cool !

13t is too low for Drifting.. Drifting is not about speed... its all Torque related.

The Lowest Turn I would suggest for Drifting would be a 15x2T.. any lower and the Torque curve starts too high..

13 t is fine for drifting. its all on how you like to drift and were you are drifting.

i run a 5.5 brushless and 3.5 if i have to. its all depends what your setup is and where you are drifting.

Brushless is different to Brushed.. Brushless offers a very wide Torque curve through out the Rev range.. Brushed doesnt'

thats true. my GF has here yokomo setup with like 10 different motors. i think the lowest turn she has its like a 10x2 and the highest is 27x2. she uses a 12x2 at the local track with all the guys and takes on the best of us.

maybe just her though.

I would suggest using the 27t for beginners, and slowly make your way into more power, 35, 27 19 15, etc

I'm running Hot Bodies 32T S46 motor, Futaba 330CR ESC and 25T/55T Pinion/Spur. With 25T/55T, I suppose my top speed is increased but torque lowered? Anyone knows what ration can I drop to? I was told I need to change the motor posn at the motor mount if I change the ratio.

Im guessing thats on a TT then 25/55 gearing? if it is m8 try 23/58 seems to work good for drifting still nice top speed but abit more torque than 25/55

also if u mean 32turn motor u may need alower turn motor too 27t is the highest limit really for drifting most use between 17-23 for gd torque and speed...

I'm using TT01D with a 23T motor and pinion/spur 25T/55T. So I have to lower my FDR in order to achieve higher torque I guess?
