Hi guys. I've recently purchased a TT-01D Subaru WRC kit, and was wondering what parts/areas I need to complete a perfect build of a RC Drifter. To each his own, so I'm asking everyones opinions on what I do need from the list or what I don't need from the list or what I am missing from the list. Please if you can if you're suggesting a part I should get, to give me a brand name so I can also research on that.. Thanks! Hopefully by then I can get a feel on what is most important and what I can drift without. I've read the TT-01 upgrades should be but not for a TT-01D so I'm not sure what to expect. Thanks for the help in advance. Here we go..

Alternatives for Tires: 2" ABS piping > PVC piping
Oil filled Shocks: (already included in TT-01D)
Ball Bearing Set: Tamiya Ball Bearing Set TT01 (already included in TT-01D) [$18.99]
Shaft: Tamiya Aluminum Propeller Shaft TT-01 [$6.99]
Motor: Tamiya RS540 Sport Tuned Motor 49/62 (already included in TT-01D) [$20.59]
Radio: Futaba 2PH 2-Channel AM/1 S3003/1 MC230CR [$79.99]
Motor Mount: Tamiya Metal Motor Mount TT-01 [$7.99]
ESC: (already included in TT-01D) decided to keep stock *thanks DriftProjectR! until I get a better motor to match it with*

Still havent decided items.

Radio batteries: 8 AA size rechargables (any recommendations? fyi: energizer failed me already )

And for the parts I'm not sure I will need as much as I'm supposed to ???

I've also read about locking diffs. It seems like I don't necessarily have to do this in order to drift.

correct me if i'm wrong..

In a nubs point a view (which is me) or someone who is just lazy to learn without locking the diffs (which is also me): Lock the rear = Driftable.

as opposed to..

Someone who is patient (which I hope to be) and actually master the drifting technique without locking any diffs (which I also hope to be): No diffs locked = Driftable.

here what i think
Radio: any 2 channel will work, thats up to you.
Esc: the stock tamiya hold up for awhile until you want to upgrade motors. if you do want to upgrade look into a novak xrs.
Servo: not something to fast, you want to learn your cars weight transfer first.
Motor: a good motor to learn with is a 19x2. it has tons of power and lots of torque as well.
Tires: for practice i would buy some abs to practice with to get use to the slide.
hop ups: i wouldnt really go with the aluminum arms (just me though) i would just keep the stock ones. i say buy some springs so you can mess with how firm you want the car. the motor mount is a good route. i would also look into a one way shaft, it gives you a hand break action when brakes are applied.
