A quick Cheap Drifter? Hmmm... HPI E10 Drift or a Tamiya TT01D
Tamiya has some incredible upgrade options. The regular TT01 can be set up for Drift, but The TT01D is set up with Drift in mind. You can adjust the Rear upper arms for diffrent camber angles, the front toe can be adjusted too. The TT01 is an Easy setup you can upgrade and grow with. a Few guys even have brushless systems in theirs that make some nitro cars blush
HPi e10 is good too, but the drive shaft stinks, I hear you can upgrade it with a Tamiya Alloy Shaft but I don't know if thats true. I believe its Cheaper than the TT01 but you'll be stuck with a stock setup for the next year, and by then I'm sure the drive shaft will look like a twisty straw. I've also heard of the AWD failing or not connecting correctly to the front wheels causing on and off AWD.
Both Cars come as a Kit or as a Ready To Run set which will give you everything from 190 to 250 USD
I'd Hold off on the e10 for another year.
Hpi's Sprint 2 is good too, but maybe out of a "quick and cheap" price and time range
I recommend the TT01, its strong, its upgradeable, and you have diffrent options. Drifting or Racing. A little investment in parts over time can give you an entry level race spec car or it can build you a fast and fun drift monster.
Hope that helped.

Ebay is good if you search tt01D RTR
(RTR means Ready to Run)
They are pre built and painted
They'll run you from 200-280
They come with most everything you need
If you don't mind it, most of the shippers ship from Hong Kong
2-4 week wait
Or you can google for some online shops
I just found one for you in less than 15 seconds

HobbyWorks is local to me, so they Ship from either Virgina Or Maryland in the United States

I went to the same hobby shop today since they're so close to me.
I got to see the exact kit they would send to you if you orderd from that link.
I molested the box a little!!!
Hey, Good luck, seriousely!
Always remember to return the help you got to another newbie one day.
I love Drifting in my car and on my RC. I maybe a little obsessed with it, but to me its my way of life.
I got bored of racing around here in my car because all we have is drag strips and it proves nothing except for who has the faster car. The Street level daily driven cars see 12-13 seconds on a track. My Turbo g35 sees low to mid 12's I'm sure I could see 11's but I got to drive this thing on non-racing fuel.
Drifting is controled Chaos. Being in control of something that has no control. Real Skillz.

Still prefer the well proven path of the TT-01... I have no doubt that the E10 with the Alloy Shaft upgrades will be a competetant slider but I think the E10 is not as sturdy as the TT-01 with Ball Bearings and Alloy Shaft....
