Default Just some questions on first drifting rc..

Hey, so I'm getting back into RC. Got a deal for a RC10GT and am thinking offhandedly of purchasing a drift car in the future (maybe in a month or two). So, for my first drift car... what is a good car to get? Not too much money.. I am just going to be drifting on the side... but is really any 4wd car decent for drifting? I prolly want an electric, but maybe nitro, whatever really. Are HPI RS4s decent cars? Asking because there are a TON on the classifieds :P.

Thank you, I understand the basics of drifting and everything, and from what I understand the car doesn't matter TOO much,

Michael

for some less expensive, a tt01, sprint 2 drift, tc3,tc4, cyclone-s all have good used prices on them. for a nitro, the hpi rs4 drift, drifts very well

get a tt01, lock the rear diff, gear it, and get a few aluminum bits.

As long as its electric, Has All Wheel drive and you can get spare parts for it... chassis doesn't really matter... Some just drift easier then others..

For me, the HPI Sprint 2, Tamiya TT-01 and the Hot Bodies Cyclone S all drift really easily..

Just depending on where you wish to slide and what style of sliding you wish to do will depend on if you go Belt Drive or Shaft Drive...

I'd go Shaft Drive..
Belts snap in a snap if you run on a rough road.

i 've had several belt cars and have never had one snap yet(knock on wood). belt tends to be smoother. I've had my share of shaft and belt, it's all preferance. the only belt driven that is sealed is the xxx-s.

is this from experience? because my tamiya durga is a 4wd buggy and considering that I run it off road in pretty rough conditions and have only had to tighten the belts once in around 50 runs I'm just wondering where you're getting this information?

I've driven one once in awhile.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not hating on belts, I'm just saying, I like props better.. =/

Sorry!

HPI Sprint 2 Belts do go Snap rather quickly if driven on the wrong surface...

Its all about how you look after you RC and where you choose to slide...
