Default Will this be safe? (Motor vs FDR)

Specs:
4-Tec Electric
14T Fantom Motor
LPR F1 Reverse ESC
Current Gears: 84/20 (& Tranny ratio of 2.1)
FDR: 8.82 (Thanks to www.gearchart.com)

So from what ive read a few places, a FDR of about 6.5 is ideal for General RC Drifting.

Here are the ratio's that can get me that FDR...
84/27
87/28
93/30

Is it true a FDR of 6.5 is best for Drifting?
If i do go for a 6.5 FDR, then which of the 3 should i go with?
And last but not least, will it be safe for my 14T motor?

Just an FIY...

The car was previously setup for all around speed. Since i have a 14Turn motor, which is better for speed then Acceleration.
I would like to gear for more Torque, to try and balance it out.

I read that "Lower FDR's mean more top speed, higher FDR's mean more acceleration."

So should i just stick with my 8.82 FDR with this 14T motor?

AGH.. So confused.

try it and see how it works. i run my car drift cars any where from a 6.25(current), up to 7.5. this allows for still enough torque and a little more top speed for the bigger tracks

I picked up some Losi Drift tires from a local hobby shop...
I played around with it a little last night but the lot was crappy.

Going to a better/cleaner lot after work today and trying it out again..

From what i notice. If i gain speed, i cant drift a turn very well.. I have to slow down a good bit, then mash the throttle to whip it out.

I'll play with it, make sure the suspension is good.. etc
If i have problems then ill get a 19T and gear it down to 6.5 DR

Picked up an awesome 27turn motor, going to gear it down to about 6.5FDR.... I'm excited.

But I'm fixing/replacing a bunch of other things so i'll install it then.

losi drift tires are not the best for drifting. They heat up and stick. makes you use alot of throttle
