Jermse10.. You can lock the Diffs if you wish.. I am pretty sure the E10 Diffs are still Bevel Diffs so you should be able to pull them apart and cram putty/Blu-Tac/Hot Glue Hell anything to prevent the Bevel Gears from Spinning..
Much like locking a TT-01 Diff..
Try Locking the rear diff first... Locking both Diffs can place Excess strain on the driveline components should you have a crash... it also increases Tyre wear if you intend on street racing your E10
Although I would have to ask is what is the trouble drifting the E10 ?? You should be able to slide it Stock...

You want to go faster ?? wack a set of rubber tyres on it, it will go faster...
Drifting isn't all about speed, it is about the angle of your slide and how far you can slide it...
You have a 17Tx2... That motor should be good for pulling off some 20 footers without a problem...
It is possible your tyres and technique are holding you back...
A Switch to some Polypipe tyres (PVC or ABS) wll perhaps allow you to obtain this goal..
Can you get a good quality Vid up of your drifting so we can see how you slide and perhaps suggest ways to improve it..

For long slides, the smoother the surface the better...
ABS likes smooth tarmac or concrete..
gravel based, not sure what you mean by that as I would think that it would make for a harsh surface to drift on...
ABS is pretty easy, you cut the pipe to length, Warm the ABS by either boiling water or an Oven set to 100 Degrees celsius and regularly checked, then rammed over the new rims when Hot..
So when they cool down they shrink over the rims for a snug fit...
ABS aka Polypipe is like drifting on Ice...you have lots of slide and you don't need lots of power.. If you have been drifting on commercial grade Drift tyres then the
first time you drift on Poly is going to be fun...
You need to remember that it can take over 2 metres for a car on poly pipe to stop once at full speed...
