Castle Creations.
Bulletproof to the core. Infinitely adjustable if used with transmitter with adjustable settings.
Will "cog" a bit, because they are sensorless, but for the money (at least to me) the best out there.

I'd avoid the MMP at least from castle creations, i've had nothing but problems with mine.
Both system are now spares replaced by 1 x Ezrun and 1 x Xerun system, both are far far better than the MMP.
The Ezrun is a great system, but personally i prefer the smoother sensored system (Xerun).
It's faster, smoother, more reliable, cheaper and runs cooler than the MMP.
After over a year running it i honestly can't fault it.

Don't know why you having problem, MM & MMP has the tourqe for any application, most for off-road and use for any other RC racing, Castle Creations has proven to be a valuable asset to my RC team. SIRC DRIFT SQUAD.

Both Esc's went up in smoke, on different cars with different motors and with different batteries.
CC repaired them at no cost, but it still took 2 months to get them repaired and returned.
Even then cogging is s problem, especially with the newer software versions.
The XeRun is faster and a hell of a lot smoother and although it does run faster the motor actually runs cooler also.
I now use XeRun's on all my touring/drift cars and the EzRun on my off-road cars.
Give the XeRun a try.
Buy it together with the LCD program box and update the firmware, the supercharged software is absolutely fantastic and has no cogging at all.

cbr6fs,
Odd, CC systems are bulletproof, if set up correctly. Perhaps that was your problem.
Cogging can be lessened (but never completely removed, because their systems are sensorless) by adjusting dead band. You may have also had programming conflicts with ESC/transmitter.
The only systems I have not had problems with are Velineons and CC systems. Velineons are good only for off-road, because they are non-adjustable, but powerful. Too powerful for most on-road applications.
I've been through LRP, Novak, CC, Traxxas, Tekin, and the only one that hasn't smoked itself to death (LRP, Tekin) or popped and caught fire (Novak) is CC.
Of course, My experiences may have been aberrations, so they are purely subjective, based on that.

Castle Creation Mamba Max Pro - but get a sensored motor, the 5700kv unsensored proves to be a bit to jerky, it cogs like someone else mentioned. If you trim it with the radio it still does not have a smooth throttle transition. It takes off like a rocket, not a desirable trait for drift, you want a smooth incline of power.
I prefer the sidewinder, now that baby is smooth. BTW sidewinder and Flux Motiv from HPI same thing different labels. Also another good setup for 150.00 Losi Excelorin 5700kv.

Yes, the Sidewinder is unsensored, but it's output is less "peaky" than the Mamba to begin with.
Though I have both systems, I tune the Mamba to the same specs as the Sidewinder. I, myself don't have issues with cogging, as it can be tuned out, somewhat. Can't get rid of it completely, but my setup specs are pretty mild, so it doesn't really affect performance.
The "more power is better" train of thought really doesn't work that well for drift setups.

Call castle. They will help you with your setup, if you tell them what you want,
If you don't have the Castle Link, I suggest you invest in it. Setups are a snap with a PC. You can tailor just about all parameters to suit your driving style.
The Field Card isn't as comprehensive, but it's better than nothing.

I mean its good and im drifting great with it I just havent played with a sensored system to tell the diff.
Im familiar with and use castle link...any particular settings i should adjust? I cant really remeber where i have everything set.

Correct the sidewinder is unsensored, but it is super smooth, I can recommend this to anyone without any reservation. Some systems like the Mamba Max Pro the ESC lets out a burst of power, and with a 5700kv unsensored motor, someone who has experience and has owned several BL system can tell the difference.

Well, sensored systems are very smooth. No cogging, because of the fact the rotor position is always monitored by the sensor-hence sensored motor. Makes take offs from neutral to quarter throttle very linear.
Make your power output curve looksomething like this. It is a bitexaggerated, but you wantit to be a curve from lower left corner to upper right corner. This will givesmooth throttle from neutral to one-third throttle, which is where I am, in regard to power for drift. The upper one third I seldom, if ever use.
I don't know what motor size you use, but I'm using a 5700 Kv motor at 70%. I also am using a 6900 Kv motor, andthe total output is at 65%so depending on the size, play around with total percentage, until you find ahappy medium.
Check motor temps while you do this, and try tofind a good adjustment that keeps temp down as low as possible.
Also, call the Castle tech guys. They may suggest something different. These settings work for me, they may not for you. It's all trial and error.
