RE: What RC Drift Car suggest for begginers?
For $99.00 you can't go wrong, you will have fun with it, it is a great car to give to a kid to start out. But if you get the drift bug you will outgrow this "entry level" car really fast. It has a can motor, which means it will wear the brushes and comm and then you have to toss it out, then if you replace it with a better grade motor which asks for more juice, you will probably fry the ESC unit somewhere down the road. Also the tires it has are ring insert which will slide as you see in their videos for a very short time, the rings wears really fast then the rubber makes contact and there goes your slide.
Don't get me wrong I'm not bashing this just car, just letting you know you get what you pay for. I started out with a econograde like this one, and had mad fun, but I got hooked on drifting and quickly had to move up to a better grade car. If you can, I know money is tight for all, why not add some more cash and buy a better grade car, perhaps a Sprint 2, or a Tamiya TT01 series. You will not outgrow these as there are tons of hop up parts for them. Well you may outgrow them if you become a drift junkie, I have owned over 8 chassis now, but these will serve you well for a long time and they handle fantastic. Best to you in your purchase! |

Just get a sprint 2, or a used TC3, TC4, or someting like that from Ebay, something you can get parts for without alot of waiting around... The TC cars will be the way to go if you'll be outside on parking lots.

i jus bought an exceed rc drift car the other day, my plans are to make it a cheap rally project, so i was testing the limits with everything stock, the drifting is fun and all my friends love it, but u get what u pay for like stated above, the day after i got it i broke the rear driver a arm, the cross in the center is all thats holding it together, 7.50$ for all 4 of them but im havin a friend make me aluminum ones, and as for the tires, when yr first learning and if yr doing it on a street like me and i kinda go crazy with it so yea, but when u bump the curb and stuff the tires come off the rim rather easily, so id recommend new wheels and tires, but other than that its pretty fun, i drift up side walk slopes then jump it off the curb, it handles pretty well, the tires are solid plastic so there is some unwanted sliding sometimes but all in all its a good car, i payed 110$ for mine and im happy with it
