HPI E10
 

Hi everyone, my name is Brad and i am new to the sport of RC drifting. just looking for a little help. I just bought the HPI E10, i have not got to play with it at all yet as i am currently deployed but will be returning home, hopefully soon. Does any body have any experience with the E10? If so, is there any must have upgrades that i should eventually look into getting? thanks for any help.

The E10 is entry level, and there really isn't much in the way of option parts, but it is a good learner, and if, in future, you want to step up with a higher-priced model, you should do so, but take the time to learn first.

From an Iraq vet, I don't know where you are currently deployed, but stay safe, and have a safe trip home! :)

thanks for the reply, and advice. however HPI as tons of options for the E10 on their website and other hobby shop websites. are their upgrades a waste of money?

Not necessarily. I'm just saying as a newbie, get to learning first, then decide if you want to stay with drift, because it can get expensive!

I got bit by the drift bug, and have chassis that close in on the $1,000 mark! :) Of course, you don't HAVEto go that route, but drift is pretty individualistic (seems paradoxical, being former military, doesn't it?), and the drive to have something "unique" is quite strong, but that's one of the biggest draws to drift - having something no one else has!

To date, I haven't seen two of the same car, with the exact same paint job (unless they were in a club, or by the same owner) or layout. Drift styles, too. It's all pretty cool.

yeah i understand what you are saying. wow, you have a lot of money invested in this sport. i can see why though. just watching videos on youtube had me addicted lol. i will definitely practice and make sure i love the sport as much as everyone else involved in it. and yes the military has made me want to be more of a individual on my off duty time, but to also do it right. i can not wait to make my car my own, with custom paint jobs, light kits, what ever will set me apart from everyone else. thank you for the advice i really appreciate it.

Yah, no sweat, brother!

Take your time, be patient, and it will all come to you, then you can decide whether to stay with it or not. Personally, I hope you do, as it has helped me! (PTSD)
