New Onroad/Drift Car Setup - Need Gearing Help
So I decided to pick up a used Redcat Lightning at the local hobby shop and trying to get some more low end power/acceleration. So far I put in a Castle Sidewinder 3 and a HobbyStar V2 540 Competition Brushless 8.5T Modified. I'm just running 2s due to the motor limitation at least for now. Currently if I counted right, it has a 58T spur and a 21T pinion. Being that it came with a brushed motor would bumping up to a 64T spur be too much to lower the heat and give it more low end? The other option I guess I have is to change the timing on the motor. This is my first attempt to build a on-road/drift car but I would assume I want it to be powerful with a spike of the throttle.
