RE: Post pictures of your drifter!
Well, of course your girlfriends car will turn out nicer than yours. It's inevitable. You'll do a good job on your own. But for whose you love you'd do 120$ better!

RE: Post pictures of your drifter!
Thanks for posting the pic of your car on multiple threads. I didn't notice how cool it was the first four times but the 5th WOW that is rad. Do you get to drive it much or is it just a show car to get people to the booth? How did you find those cool vintage 80's style wheels for your car? I think my neighbor has those on his '88 RX-7 they rock.

RE: Post pictures of your drifter!
wow!! how u guys get that dam thing to glow like that? are there any ways i can put lights on my supra? the one on page (2)? im selling the HPI rally chassis for a tc3 or a drift kit not too sure... but i wanna learn how to install light!

RE: Post pictures of your drifter!
Hey aznboi133.
installing lights like that isnt that hard. especially for underglo and wheel backlighting. just pick up some leds off of ebay or something (i use seller "cwithk" from hong kong). the only thing is, you kinda have to know a bit of what youre doing with leds if youre gonna do it yourself. the majority of bright leds take about 3 volts and between 10 - 25 milliamps. whereas the voltage doesnt really matter as long as its above 3 volts, but still within a reasonable range (3 - 12 volts) the current (amps) is pretty crucial. also, leds are polarized, meaning that current will only flow one way, unlike an incandescent lamp (light bulb). so you have to hook the positive up to positive, and the negative up to the negative leads on your leds (try it out before soldering). if you have enough voltage you can save power by running a few leds in a series arrangement (negative to positive so the current still runs in the right direction.) a good rule of thumb is that your voltage will drop by about 3 volts across every led. so, with 12 volts, you can run 4 leds in series. but make sure that you have the right resistors to provide the correct current (voltage/current = resistance). also, you must make sure that the resistors are rated for the right wattage. (watts = current * voltage) you dont want to fry your resistors after a while and have to re-wire everything. once you have that all figured out, mount your leds anywhere you want under the body. you can do a crappy job (just hot melt glue them on) or show quality, it'll still work the same. all depends on what you want. i hope that answers some of your questions. (or maybe raised a few others) |
RE: Post pictures of your drifter!
well its confusing... but wont the leds leak through the bodie and make it look all funky? are there sites that can further guide me? would i need to get a 9 vold battery for this? cuase my super rooster is supposed to handle these things.
