Dunno, I've been to lazy to go look for myself I think you just take the normal rim, electric tape it then put some special white tape on it, if you figure it out, lemme know. AIM Deity of Cold

Why 4WD? Because there is more power going to the front. On a real car, all the wheight is in the front cuz the engine so it keeps the front weight down and in the lead of the rear tires... with 2WD cars the motor is in the back so it is harder to get the front of the car into the drift angle and such, you'll just doughnut...

I Though Drifting was no Traction? It is, it's just the fact of being able to have some traction to control your car, otherwise it's like a plane in the air where you are screwing witht he Yaw effect... more steering, less power, oppisite will make you go another way, w/e

Tape and PVC? People use a number of things on their tires as opposed to foam tires or rubber compound tires. The lasts through about 2-3 runs before you have to change it out, the PVC and ABS piping go directly on the rims like a tire. PVC is white and has more traction... ABS is black like a tire and is the best you can get... like $7.00 for 10 feet of it! It's well worth it....

it has less traction, because PVC is harder then ABS

ABS has more traction


and yes people do need to use the search button

I just tried drifting my RS4 3 after reading this thread. It seems pretty fun if you learn how to control it. What I did was cut off the bottom end of some pepsi cans and slip them on my tires. It worked well for about a minute. Then one of the cans came off and i got pissed. I threw donuts until the rest came off. So, if you want, you could try pepsi cans on your tires. But make sure they are taped or strapped on somehow or else it will come off.

Tape is used over trued down foams and works great on carpet, it's ok on a prepared tarmac but normal road/carpark tarmac is usually too rough and rips it after about 3 or 4 runs

ABS is softer than PVC and a set made of 2mm thick pipe will last about 6 hours - NOT 3 runs - Yokomo Drift rings last about 3 runs

4WD is best because all 4 wheels are fighting for traction exactly like ice rallycrossers you see in Europe, our Drifters look just like these round a corner

if u use 2wd u will spin out that y u use 4wd because all the wheels are spining

back to the 4wd thing, if you have a 2wd car, yes u cant steer but also there is alot of friction between the floor and tire so it will just donut, maybe a little powerslide at best, its all about spinning the wheels to get rid of friction. i hope you get that, im not very good at explaining things to people who dont understand :D
