RE: tt-01 vs. tl01
take the tt-01, no oil filled shocks tho, thats a hop up. i have a tl-01 drifter but my m8's tt-01 drifts heaps better

RE: tt-01 vs. tl01
there are more hop-up's for the tl-01, the tt-01 is just new...... i think..
|
RE: tt-01 vs. tl01
so i should get tt-01

RE: tt-01 vs. tl01
what about the t-spec? is it any good
|
RE: tt-01 vs. tl01
i was looking at the t-spec the other day (need a proper racer) and also the TC3, im not too sure about the aftermarket parts for the t-spec but it looks like a real speedster, or drifter..... on the other hand, the TC3 has too many aftermarket hop-up's and parts to list and is a proven race winner (i guess). it should also be a great drifter. it all really depends on your set, up. The Tamiya TT-01 is a great car, all i would suggest for it is to get an aluminium prop shaft (its a tamiya hop-up)(blue aluminium) as the stock one it comes with (plastic) Flexes...... Alot. my m8's tt-01 had a spur, bushing stripped and melted and a hole melted in his chassis because of the plastic drive shaft going out of alignment. The tt-01 is good value and is an allround good car for a lower budget. the T-spec is way better though, and only costs a little more, but i am not sure about hop-up's and parts. The TC3 is the best, costs more, but way worth the extra dough. and theres a S***load of aftermarket parts too
Hope this helps :D |
RE: tt-01 vs. tl01
TC3 would make a real deluxe controllable drifter, I set my race car up for drifting and it is way more fun to drive than my TL01 - but I don't want to bash on the race car so I still use the TL01 for drifting. The T-Spec is a good car, it isn't as good of a race car as a TC3 but I think it would make a much more controllable and smoother drifter than the TL01 or TT01. If you're willing to spend a little more than what a Tamiya car costs I would go with the T-Spec since if you get sick of drifting and want to take it to the track you'll still have a car that will be fun to race.
The only real downside I see to the T-Spec at the moment is lack of parts available. If you blow a outdrive it's hard to pick one up at the LHS - at least around here. Nobody sells T-Spec parts yet in my area, but at the same time less hobby shops are carrying the now aging Tamiya parts. |
