if y'all guys can drift using PVC, ABS or real rubber tyres... i really need to know if a real rubber tyre can drift like the PVC or ABS tyres y'all kept mentioning... because ONE SYK told me... (that's one of the RCU members) to use rubber tyres... and i did... and i can drift... but not like the one's i saw on the RC drift videos... can you guys tell me the drift difference between plastic tyre to a rubber tyre?.. by the way im using tamiya type A tyres for drifting...

well they aint realy plastic tyres just pvc piping ontop of a rubber tyre. they just dont have any grip what so ever. so using pvc would make the wheels spin crazy and rubber is slower and would wear very fast

The plastic just makes the tires break loose and look closer to the real thing...you can drift either way but rubber has more grip so your car won't look like it does in the videos....the videos show slow sideways action that you really can't get on an rc car without giving up the traction.

so that means rubber tyres can drift but not like the ones on plastics... ok... i'll stick to rubber and try to drift as much as it can...

How well can you drift with, say, the rubber tires that come with the Nitro TC3 kits? I've heard that they aren't very good for anything other than drifting. The reason I'm asking is cause I plan on getting one hopefully reall soon, and I'd like to do some drifting with it, but my main goal is racing, I just want to have some fun at home with the tires it comes with (I'll be using foams at the track).

I'm not sure if the same tires come on the NTC3 as with the electric TC3, but the stock e-TC3 ones are pretty grippy to me. They are certainly not the best but they have too much traction for drifting. Certainly you can force them to drift, but you really have to build up speed to break the wheels free. With PVC you can hit the throttle from a standstill and almost instantly be in a slow, controlled drift. I would really recommend getting an extra set of wheels to mount PVC to. I have rubber tires and drift tires, so I can be zipping around a parking lot at 40+mph then switch to drifting in about a minute.

i drift with the hpi x pattern tires, i just wore them down to wheres theres not much tread and then they have just the right amount of traction

well im using tamiya TA04 SS pro... and off course what other tyres would i use... tamiya type A's... but i changed to tamiya stock slick tyres... and the adjusting the right negative camber... would you believe guys after changing tyres and finding the right camber... my chassis drifts like the ones using PVC... im planning to purchase a digital vid cam when the budget is enough... and ill post the vids here...

for rubber tires just wrap some masking tape around the back wheels about 8 times#

and for the front do the same but leave about 1 cm of the rubber showing on 1 side and that works great for me

I have a RS4 3 SS, and drift with my ABS tires, but I had no problem breaking traction on the stock tires it just could not hold it out as long because they would eventually hook up
