Drift question?
well i was thinking being how its so much fun to drift my real car that it might be cool to drift my r/c car now i will be swithing it to rwd and need some drift tires..wont i only need the drift tires(pvc pipe) on the rear or will i need them all around i would have thought just the rear since when i drift in my car i just switch the back tires to crap ones so i dont wear out my good ones and the front doesnt wear...is this the same principle for r/c drifting? or is it different? thanks - Brad Cooch

RE: Drift question?
you will need the drift tires all around, or all you would be doing is donuts. and do not change your r/c to rwd.. drifting in r/c is very much different than drifting in real life, due to weight, torque issues, traction... and a lot more factors due to scaling factors.. i think i may have posted some things about that, try searching around previuos threads... might be the nitro vs electric thread...
another thing, absolutely do not use pvc tires... pvc is widely available, but its too slippery and the color is white, which is obviously not scale... abs is softer than pvc, but it still will last a long time. just try your best to get abs piping... heaps of control i hope this information helps |
RE: Drift question?

RE: Drift question?
um... buggy tires are 4.5 inches. yes, i have seen sizes bigger than that, but i can't recall if anyone makes 4.5 inch piping. it a nice number, so i wouldn't be surprised if they sell that size. i live in california, and i found it really easily in orchard hardware supplies.
