Ball stud

Hey all,

This is my first build up just so you know, so If this is a stupid question please forgive me. So I just bought the HKS D1 replica Yokomo drift RC.
And I just about finished the build up, I was putting on the tie rod on the ball stud. But with the slightest bump, it falls off. Is this normal or is the ball stud supposed to snap into the ball cap. Also I got the new drift tires with the single broad ring. But I can't get them on, it's just too tight. Can any one give me any tips to get the ring on.

Thanks.

ok, ball ends should be tight enough that you have to fight to get them into place, and off again. if its too loose, maybe youre using the wrong ends. pick up the right ones at your hobby shop, theyre only a few bucks for a pack.

i havent had any experience with those drift tires, but i would suggest just heating up the plastic rings in a toaster oven for a few minutes. take them out and they should stretch over the wheel pretty easily. but dont get too rammy with it, you dont want to stretch the rings so much they dont fit tightly anymore. you could also try putting the tires in the freezer for about an hour beforehand.

So what your trying to say is that the cups snap on to the ball?

yes just use some power to pop them on

I use a set of pliers to pop them on to save my hands the extra pain. Just be sure to use a towel or something between the pliers and the plastic so you don't gouge anything up. [sm=thumbup.gif]
