I was lookin at the tamiya 4wd baja champ and was wonderin if it was a good drifter

Drifting isn't an off-road sport in its popular form, so I'm not going to recommend you get an off-road car to drift with. Trying to buy a single R/C to do everything with isn't recommended either. If you're looking to drift and bash around in parking lots on a budget I recommend a Tamiya TL-01.

RE: New drifting car

dont get a tl-01, your better off gettin a tt-01 cuz the tl-01 doesnt have as much hop-ups as the tt-01. besides, more people use the tt-01 and it is growing phenomanally

RE: New drifting car

Yeah, but it seems like he's on a tight budget if he was looking at the baja champ.

The Tamiya TL-01 is a really good car and it has lots of hop-ups.

if you are on a tight budget save up $220 and get the RTR RC10TC3. all you will need is a charger and a battery.

not really sure
That helps. Also when looking at cars know that there's more to it than just the car itself. There's items that you have to get with it to make it run. If $200.00 is too much you can probably give up now, unless you find something used on eBay.

He's right, blackraven64. I thought I was going to be spending a lot on my TC4 when I was only thinking about the kit, but now I'm going to end up putting about $550 just so it can be reasonably fast.

You also have to worry about a drift kit, and they aren't too cheap (I think).

If you want to drift for cheap, buy an xmod and spend $15 on their drift kit. Not too be mean, but is $75 too much for you?

lol no it's not

" You also have to worry about a drift kit "

What drift kit are you talking about? If you're talking about the Stage-D conversion, it's only for the Nitro RS4 3 from HPI and not required to drift. The only thing required to drift is a 4wd chassis, drift tires and somewhere to drift. That's what makes it fun.

I'm gonna stop looking for a "cheap" drifting car so can u guys give me any good suggestiions?
