Thinking about HPI Stage D Conversion Drift Setup
Hey, this conversion set looks good. It's not cheap, but at least you get what you pay for. The chassis is $70 already. Anyways, can i get some reviews of this conversion? I tried to drift with my Evo using drift tires, anda combo of spring setups. I also thought about locking the diffs.
The stage D doesn't have locked diffs, so how does it drift so well? Can anyone give me some good review on it? |
RE: Thinking about HPI Stage D Conversion Drift Setup
dont get it you will get wat you paid for but its not worth it just put abs and set it up

RE: Thinking about HPI Stage D Conversion Drift Setup
ABS is unstable. There is no control. The car has too high of RPM's as it slides.

RE: Thinking about HPI Stage D Conversion Drift Setup
no it dosent!?

RE: Thinking about HPI Stage D Conversion Drift Setup
abs is of a softer compound than of pvc. and its alot cheaper than buying drift tires, thats a waste of time and money and CA
o yea you dount stab the throttle you queze it about halfway |
RE: Thinking about HPI Stage D Conversion Drift Setup

RE: Thinking about HPI Stage D Conversion Drift Setup
ok once again the HPI stage D tires are what make it drift so well ....im assuming ur drifting a nitro car. if u arent the HPI tires are too sticky for electric .....if ur into electric'z then tamiya has comeout with a half and half tire ...the outside of the tire is soft while the inside is hard so it can still kick the tires out and get a good drift..... i have used the HPI tires on my smartech and on my cousins UNmodified RS4 (not the full drift kit just the tires). and they work AWSOME.

derr you acually do really suck at life. i said to him not you ass. god i meant 150 to turn it into a hpi drifter. kit installed.
1. rims- about 20(26 for yokomos) 2 hpi tires-(set of4)-26 buck ebay 46 for just the wheel. tires wear out for about a good 8-10 one and a half hour run. another 26 then another..... soo forth[sm=RAINFRO.gif] |
RE: Thinking about HPI Stage D Conversion Drift Setup
once again ...have u even tried them or seen them ....u dont even know what ur talking about. ive had mine for like 2 and a half months and i run my car almost everday.....and i have very minimal signs of wear. and i can assume that he already has a set of rimms...so its 25bux for a set of tires...whoopdeedoo
InTeGrA what are u talking about discontinued.... ? |
RE: Thinking about HPI Stage D Conversion Drift Setup
Man stop arguing this annoying. giving the car a lower center of gravity(moving the engine to the middle) will make it slide more. just test the tires out and if ur not please get the stage d and then ull have an extra set of wheels/tires too :P

RE: Thinking about HPI Stage D Conversion Drift Setup
My buddy has an rs4-3 with the drift conversion. He only runs the rear drift tires and we have been having a blast doing cone slaloms and whatnot. I tried driving it, but it's a bit of a handful for me since I'm used to my rs4-1 with road tires and grippy suspension setup. He bought his as an RTR used for 200 bucks on ebay, so I'd say it's worth it if you can find a deal like that, but it's probably not the best drift setup for the money if you buy everything new...

RE: Thinking about HPI Stage D Conversion Drift Setup
CAN THIS CONVERSION SET BE HANDMADE? CAN WE MAKE IT BY OURSELVES? IMMA THINKIN' OF DOING IT. BUT I KNOW THAT IT NEEDS SHORTER FRONT DRIVE SHAFT AND A LONGER REAR DRIVE SHAFT WHEN THE MOTOR IS PUT ON THE CENTER OF THE CHASSIS. CANT WE MOVE THE CENTER OF GRAVITY TO THE CENTER OF THE CHASSIS BY ANOTHER WAY WITHOUT CHANGING THE DRIVESHAFTS??
