|
RE: driffting tires
nooooooo ok those can work and doo good drifts but pvc or abs is the way to go. the stock motor you should go with pvc. any other abs..
you can move very well with it. watch videos and see how it works[sm=RAINFRO.gif] |
RE: driffting tires
ya i have been
can u give me step by step instruction my car comes with radials but there not on (kit) so i can just put pvc or abs on it 1st cause im going for drift and race setup lol so when i get new rims the good tires will go on whats the difrince from abs and pvc drifting wise? |
RE: driffting tires
ok pvc is very hard plastic and abs is softer so abs will have more grip.. but it's very little grip so top speed will take along time to get to. even tho top speed is not the idea. step by step what instructons on how to put pvs on?? or what??[sm=RAINFRO.gif] keep it kool

RE: driffting tires
You're from San Jose, eh? So your LHS's would be uh.... Sheldon's, Hobbytown, Castle, and D&J, right? Anyways, go to Home Depot (I think the closest one is by the Great Mall) or Orchard (wherever that is. I got lost looking for it when I needed to buy a light bulb. LOL) and get 2 inch inner diameter ABS piping. It's the black pipe. I think the going price is like $4 per 10 feet.
To cut the pipe, you can use a saw, but I recommend going to Sear's and getting a pipe cutter. I'll find you the link later. For RC drifters, it's probably the best $20 you can spend. All you would have to do then is to mark the pipe every inch and get cutting. With the cutter I mentioned, all you would have to do is put the pipe on the roller, push the blade onto the mark, tighten the handle a bit, spin the ABS, and repeat until the ABS ring comes off. Once you get the hang of it, you can pump out ABS tires in no time! Now for mounting the tires. 2" ID ABS if PERFECT for fitting onto a bare wheel. So basically, wrap the outside of the wheel with a couple wraps of electric tape. Then try to slide the ABS over the rim. It should be hella snug. Then you can put the wheel on the ground and put a book, board, something flat and hard over the wheel. Then slowly put your body weight on top of it, and BAM! Your ABS is now on your wheel and won't go anywhere until it's well worn down. ENJOY! Seeing as you're from SJ, I would recommend that you join DRC Central. Here's the address... http://www.driftrcentral.com/forum/index.php We have a couple members in your area and I would love for you to drift with my friend Jerry. You see, I have started a Bay Area drift team called Team Kamidori, and Jerry is the SJ area recruiter. Who knows? Maybe after a couple sessions, you'll become a member of the team! Also, I will be back in the SJ area next month from the 15th to the 23rd (I live in Wyoming right now cuz I'm in the Air Froce, blah. blah, blah) and I am looking into planning a couple sessions. One in Union City for the nitro team, one in San Jose for you, Jerry, and others, and possibly one more where everyone can meet up. Be sure to join DRC Central and you'll mos def be kept in the loop! If you want, you can always hit me up on AIM. My screen name is "iamROYJOVERO" |
