Diff setups
I imagine a front one way and a rear spool the way to go for drifting.
Is this true? |
RE: Diff setups
a front locked diff will give more steering which will make it easier for drifting
|
RE: Diff setups
A couple of friends of mine are running one-ways in the front...what they've noticed is that they get tighter drifts...

RE: Diff setups
hello guys im new here
what you mean by a front locked diff ?? where can i get some PVC or ABS? how do i put the tires on? do i have to get all 4? thank you advices? |

RE: Diff setups
I have found the HPI drift tires give normal driving ability with drifting. You can either keep 4 wheels planted or accelerate fast to kick the rear out and do a controlled drift.
I imagine the ABS tires would give too little traction and many people lock 4 diffs and just gun it the whole time by sliding around. I used a rear locked diff on my TL-01 and it handles like a scale RWD car with the HPI drift tires. I imagine with the front diff locked it will be too forgiving, but right now it's fun to drive and taked some skill to get a 20 foot drift going. |
RE: Diff setups
ABS is the standard for drift tires. And I prefer a tight rear ball diff with a loose to medium tense front diff or a one way.

RE: Diff setups
I simply remove the grub screw holding the front drive shaft in place and only have a RWD car with a big ***** motor to kill it all day

RE: Diff setups
Right........ Although the point here is drifting not senseless donuts.
