i got a locked metal diff in rear and a one way metal diff up front...

is that ok for drifting???

i dont really understand the difference between a locked diff and a one way?

can someone explain?

RE: one way diffs?

lock diff/mini spool/welded diff/1 way diff/straight axel
its all the same

One ways and solid axles aren't the same, solid is just that, a one way has a one way roller bearing in which lets the car freewheel under braking

You can get the same effect as a solid by locking a diff but the idea of solid axles is to have constant equal power to all 4 wheels all the time - even if only 2 tyres touch the ground

RE: one way diffs?

ah k...didnt no about the roller bearing...so there like the bearings in the pull start? grab wen u start the motor
but free spin wen its runnin?

RE: one way diffs?

yeh my one way can spin forward freely as long as the back diagonal wheel is free.

one ways are supposed to generate more power true?

is the locked rear, one way front a good set up for drifting?

I don't like front one-way + rear spool, it makes the car very unpredictable, I prefer 2 normal diffs to this setup, but 2 spools seem very consistent - I like them?

RE: one way diffs?

ye ive jus got front an rear spools...at 1st i jus glued the rear gears, was pretty tuff...then i figured out the spools an its mad
onli downfall is A. hard to race on tyres, jus loops round wen u corner/throttle an B. with PVC it dusnt turn at lo speeds, jus goes straight
but thats ok, give it a quik stab an the ass comes sliding round an ur back into again...spools defintly improove the drifting
