Gyro (cheating?)
http://www.hpiracing.co.jp/contents/...mg/drft_02.jpg
The Dbox for hpi's micro rs4 stage D racer is supposed to allow the car to over steer. Would this work if you use a micro heli gyro though? Just wondering because although I love drifiting with my big block in my micro rs4; imagine how a mamba would do. This would mean a whole lot quicker drifts and easier XD. Has anyone used a gyro such as http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXKTT2&P=7 ? Anyone successful with it? It should have similar results regardless of which scale rc car you use. http://www.hpiracing.co.jp/contents/movies/dbox.wmv |
RE: Gyro (cheating?)
I know gyros are for helis and bikes but what exactly are they? And I never knew HPI had a Stage D Micro RS4.

RE: Gyro (cheating?)
well, it was just in the international toy show thingy.
here is a thread that already spoke about it http://www.yourmicro.com/forums/show...threadid=17757 |
RE: Gyro (cheating?)
Yes
|
RE: Gyro (cheating?)
rc car gyros aren't new by a long way, they were banned years ago when a certain German pro racer used one in a major champs, he went on to start a company we all know - LRP

RE: Gyro (cheating?)
would one of those work on a nittro drift car? I'm learning to drift and I'm looking for alittle help.
|
RE: Gyro (cheating?)
You'll probably have to get a gyro for a nitro powered heli. The one at tower hobbies is for an electric.
iono if it matters though because it looks like it's connected to the receiver and the servo so.. ::shrugs:: Has anyone tried this? anyone? anyone?[sm=confused.gif][sm=confused.gif] |
RE: Gyro (cheating?)
if you wnat a gyro for a nitro car i think youd have to get a gyro from futaba. there alot of money but it might work. my da flys helis and has some spare gros ill hook one up to my rc10gt and see if it works.
|
RE: Gyro (cheating?)
awsome man, please post your results. I don't fly so I don't have any spare gyros lying around but if it works, I'm goin' to buy one. Thanks!

RE: Gyro (cheating?)
just got word from a member in mymicro.com.. Turns out this Gyro technology works! I'm going to buy this when I get a lil' money. I'll tell you guys how it turns out.
|
RE: Gyro (cheating?)
All it does is limits the turning angle because it senses the rotation of the car. It doesn't control it for you, you just adjust it for the tightest clean drifting circle. If the car is rotating too fast, it will make the turning angle closer to straight to help avoid it spinning out. It does not sense wheelspin or anything that has to do with too much power, just lateral axis rotation of the car.
If you are good enough, you don't need it. |
RE: Gyro (cheating?)
oh come on ppl dont cheat! lol do you think the real cars have this things installed in there cars lol no. half the fun is learning about controling the drift, if you go and install this it will must likely show that you dont have skills. but thats your choice.
|
RE: Gyro (cheating?)
i think itd be alright for noobs to learn slowly and set the amount of correction lower and lower until there is no point of the gyro even being in the car and they can drift fine without it but just to amke it easyier because you lazy...poop on you;)

RE: Gyro (cheating?)
mm i cant find any pvc or anything around here and i just got new tires and i have no electrical tape to tape the tires with: (

RE: Gyro (cheating?)
I'm thinking this is lame too. Figure it'll take at least 3 days to ship and 1 hour to install. Get 3-4 hours of practice during that 73 hour wait and you'll improve enough to not need the thing. It's a micro anyway, no matter what you do, it's never going to be much of a drifter, IMO.

RE: Gyro (cheating?)
i don't know if the hpi gyro is just for a micro. in the video the car is a hpi stage d sprint 2.
|
RE: Gyro (cheating?)
just get someone else to drift your car for you..... its the same result
|
RE: Gyro (cheating?)
Wow, that video had some clean driving. Think this'd work on a TT-01 Tamiya chassis? I don't see that it'd affect anything.
|
RE: Gyro (cheating?)
so is the futaba 1 the same as the hpi 1?
|
RE: Gyro (cheating?)
I got one and put it on my rs4 and first day out drifted a complete circle around myself like in the movie :D
|
RE: Gyro (cheating?)
Just go out and Practice...
I mean most 14 Year olds can Drift Damn good inside an Hour with proper tuition.. There is no need for the D-box or a Gyro.. If You had a Nitro I can understand it but an Electric??? You have more Throttle Control on an Electric so it makes the D-box pointless anyway.. Its like Buying a Brand new PC game and Using Cheats from the get go Try Drifting on your own and if not sucessful.. Hook up with some one who can.. and get them to teach you |
RE: Gyro (cheating?)
must admit.. not liking the d_box but like someone else has said its good to learn with if you want to learn quick, but then you have the trouble of learning to drift without it again... if that makes sense??...
|
RE: Gyro (cheating?)
I cant believe any sad f.u.c.k.e.r.s will actually buy one of these, its like hiring a hoe an then getting your mate to do her.
W.T.F are you thinking, get yo a.s.s on the street and practice man, dont even go down the line of sayin you can use it to start off and then turn it down, I can guarantee one of thes will make you the s.h.i.t.t.e.s.t drifter on the block lol! |
RE: Gyro (cheating?)
ORIGINAL: cordia would one of those work on a nittro drift car? I'm learning to drift and I'm looking for alittle help. the d_box would work on any car |
RE: Gyro (cheating?)
Dont use it!
But, it'll work on any car it plugs to the servo! |
