RE: lock rear diff ????
I drift a difflocked TC3, and it was easy and FREE!
1. Take the diffs out 2. Remove the diff balls (the 1/8th" ones) 3. Rebuild the diffs (without the 1/8th" diff balls) and tighten them up 4. Put car back together Sorted ;) Kev |

Sorry to hijack the thread, but I have the Micro RS4, is the technique same? I have attached a diagram, which part should I remove and then tighten?

RE: lock rear diff ????
Unfortunately your car has a geared diff, now I haven't tried doing this so can't testify to it working but take the 4 sun gears out (73403) and rebuild the diffs without those in then tighten the diff up - it might work

RE: lock rear diff ????
aquito, for the TC4, I would just go buy a locked diff, also known as a spool. You can get them from Speedtech RC. That way, you won't have to rebuild your ball diff if you don't like the results. Also you can just tighten it up a bit more, like tighten it til it's pretty snug, then back off a quarter of a turn.
Z Fanatic, since you have gear differentials, you'll have to lock it using the now infamous TT-01 technique. Of if you still want to maintain the differential action, you can repack it with a thicker grease. |

RE: lock rear diff ????
I know you did. LOL. I would personally get a cheap spare diff and cover the diff screw in red Loctite and tighten the living piss out of it. LOL.

RE: lock rear diff ????
ok i took the diif balls out...how much do i have to tight it up? a lot?

RE: lock rear diff ????
You'll feel it suddenly stop tightening up - don't strain it after that because it's fully tightened ;)
