Can you put tape on the wheels for drfting??

thats what i have been doing..i use electrical tape...but if u use it on black top..and you get fairly good at drifting..it tears the electrical tape off pretty quick

Yeah but plastic pipe is much better (especially ABS & PE)

if you want higher speed drifts/less angle you would enjoy tape but lower speed/more angle you would want ABS/PVC

what he means is he puts tape on the tyres so they are slippery so he can drift . They are not a type of tyre just what some people do!!!:D

Yea! Tape on wheels that's i started wid my Jada Toys car and I'm still usin' it right now until I can get a Yokomo drift car. Trust me ya gotta be real good ta control a car wid tape on the rear wheels. And another thing the turnin' on my Jada Toys TEIN Supra plain sucks it can't even turn like the drift cars and yet my dad hasen't even found the drift car i want , talk about disappointing.[&o]

Tape on wheels make tires slippery(lose traction) so that you can slip 'n' slide all around the track, but ya gotta be really good to do something like this.[sm=angry.gif]

RC Freak.. Stop Double Posting.. It is Not the Quantity of Posts but the Quality of Information with in them that s important.

Back on Subject

Drift Tape (Cheap Electrical Tape) will get you sliding enough to begin with.
Try 6 nice Even Layers Per Tyre. Starting from the outside and moving in..
You will know when it is time to replace the tape as the Car will stop sliding and the Torn Tape will be fluttering about..

Then step up to a Drift Radial, these are a little Harder to slide with but need a Nice Smooth Suface..

Next Step: ABS piping.. Its Black 50mm or 52mm Piping, Hasn't got a lot of Grip but will allow you to slide nice and long...
It Does wear out quicker then PVC

Final Step: PVC : the Ultimate in Sliding Tyres: Dirt Cheap per metre, White in color and comes in 50mm Diametre.. They have to be Heated till soft then shoved over the rims.. or Glued and forced on..
PVC= Least Grip and requires maximum car control for effective sliding...

I can help wid a ting or two (1)Search for the perfect drift car. (2)Buy a drift car for a reasonable price.(3)Take the car to the track and test it.(4)Buy some modification parts (the car might need room for improvement).(5)Add the parts to the car . & (6)Take the car back to the track and test it .
There you have it , 6 easy steps to get into drifting and buying a drift car. Trust me
it's really easy, if you think this is hard you don't belong here.:D:D:D

yeah so a tt-01 like stated earlier will work perfectly for a beginner. its solid, has a solid hop up market. you'll enjoy drifting alot. just make sure its 4wd. thats the key to Rc Drift

Im new, so i have some question to ask. I read previous posts and i have no idea how u guys put PVS thinggy on tyre? And eletric tape, i just imagine use that tape tape around the tire, is it right?

yes that is right electrical tape is jus taped around the tyre.i started using it and i still am.untill i find a seller of pvc:D

I have used Electrical tape, pvc and drift tires. I like the tape because it is way easyer and cheaper to replace and I can usally get a few runs before I replace it.

i use electrical tape, and running on carpet, i can get loads of runs out of it, also it is easy to take off if you want to use your wheel again lol
