getting started in drift?
ok im new to this whole RCU thing so i hope this works
anyway, ive been into Rc for a while and i have an older mugen seiki nitro touring car and i want to make it into a drift car and i was wondering what is needed to make it into a good drift car. it already drifts pretty well but i'd like to improve on it any suggestions will be apreciated thanx |
RE: getting started in drift?
you need pvc wheels, abs wheels, or drift rings. Those will help lots.

RE: getting started in drift?
Actually, on Nitro cars, I don't think ABS or PVC is going to be to your advantage because Nitro is so much faster than electric. I think you'd just slide around with little control (guess it just depends on how fast your car actually is). What mods are done to your car now?

RE: getting started in drift?
there is no mods on my car at all but it is fairly fast

RE: getting started in drift?
Just get some rubber drift ties.
Radial: Yokomo, HPI Advan, Pit Shimizu, Kawada, etc. Slicks: HPI Stage D, Tamiya, etc. You can run plastic tires, but you'll find out that you will have difficulty with throttle control if you have a rotary carb. |
RE: getting started in drift?
Tweaking the suspension will help also. Im tweaking my RS4 3 evo right now. I can get about 17ft drift with the set-up I have now. Best tires are any hard slick tires. I run Tamiya slicks.

RE: getting started in drift?
i had an idea for rubber tires (it might work with plastic ones to)
well i skateboard and ive been told to put my wheels in the freezer to make em last longer and i thought that if you put the tires in the freezer for a few days they'll get harder and last longer i havent tried it yet but it works good with skateboard wheels |
