D-Box

This new thing by HPI called the Dbox is awesome, it stabalizes your steering during drifting!

Awesome as hell, little pricy tho

RE: D-Box

It's not new and it limits the progression of the driver. I would rather learn to drift without driving aids. But the DBox would be nice with a RWD chassis.

I agree......learn to drive the car without the D-Box. You will appreciate your developed skills later!!

RE: D-Box

I've tried out the Alpha gyro, which is exactly like the DBox, and it extremely limits drift angle. It also requires countersteer. Without the DBox/Alpha, minimal countersteer is needed since you control angle and drift recovery by throttle manipulation.

The only ways I can see it being used are ONE: at RC drift expo where HPI wouldn't want people to destroy their demo cars, and TWO: at a sanctioned spec class drift event where everone must run the driving aid.

I hold firm to my Gran Turismo philosophy here: Driving aids are for homos!!![>:]

RE: D-Box

Yeah I bet it would. But like everyone said you will apreciate the hobby much more by practicing on your own. Wait for someone else to confirm wether it will work or not.

same exact "box" Futaba makes it, HPI re-labels it http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXKTT2&P=ML

$64.99 :-)

this is really cool for insane BL powered 1/12 scale parking lot bashers. ( you know that kind that make you feel like your driving on an air hockey table :-)
