http://www.projdm.com/Toyota-Celica-...976_15647.html

i know its an off brand, but its 90 % compatibility with good brands like hpi, yokomo, ect.... . plus it accepts an hpi 15fe swap. bolts right in.:D. could i just put some drift tires on it and just go drift? thanks.

If you were really concerned with build quality, then yes... Theres nothing you can't save for. I found a TT-01D on eBay the other day for $130 USD and thats even using Buy it Now... But, anyways, to answer your question, yeah, you can just throw on drift tires and go have fun.

RE: Drift tires

if you want my honest opinion i think that if you have $200 dollars to spend you should spend it on something different. you could drift it with hard rubber tires but i think that a better investment would be a tt-01R or something along those lines of an electric car. i know NITRO! it sounds soo cool but since you're 11 electric might be a better way to go. i dont know personally but nitros take alot more maintenence than you think. but its all up to you

bud, when's your birthday? ask for some money for your b-day, christmas, channukka, kwanzza, labor day, thanksgiving, wutev. just hold on to that $200 bucks for a little while. The car will not hold up and trust me it may be "compatible" with other stuff, but nothing will be an exact fit, if it was then smartech could be shut down for patent infringment. i dont know how experienced you are, but i've been rc'ing since i was six and i know that when i was eleven i was still no expert. if you want to get some money fast. go through your stuff and find things that you used to use when you were little and cant anymore. i sold all of my old baseball bats cuz i got a new one and made $250 on stuff that would just lie around otherwise. all i'm trying to say is BE PATIENT!! and seriously what's with this forum and the TT-01? does tamiya hire people to come here and tell everyone to get a Tamiya? lol its kinda weird...

RE: Drift tires

magnat just said i should get a TT-01.

RE: Drift tires

dude dont get more than one car just stick with the one you jsut bought. sure its not the best car. but its not absolute sh*t. just treat it with care and dont smak into things orrun it too hard and it should last you a long time. make some drift tires (ABS) and play around with your settings to get the feel for it. buy what you can afford. dont listen to most of the ppl on here, every now and then theyll give you a good point but mainly listen to ROY, magnat and em x 6 racer they know their stuff like no one else on here.

goodluck:D

No Tamiya Doesnt Pay us to come on and Promote their Products..

The TB-02,TT-01 and TL-01 are Proven Drift Chassis that most basic Drifters can afford..
Not everyone has the Money for a Yokomo, We Understand this, this is why we recommend Chassis that we know work and that people can afford..

There are Simply Tonnes of Chassis that can Drift, We know, We can only recommend what has been proven to work for those on a Set Budget.

nissan tuner, silent_echo is correct, drift what You have got as you are already getting it, I only Suggested getting the TT-01 as unlike the Smart Tech, it is a proven drift chassis that fits in your Budget.. Since the Smart Tech will be coming RTR It will have the Radio Gear needed to transplant onto the TT-01 and the TT-01 I posted will come with an ESC, Just think, you will have Nitro for speed and Electric for slide.. Best of Both Worlds..

RE: Drift tires

but you dont need ABS to drift nitro. if you think ABS is slippery on electrics then nitro cant be any better. hard rubber or drift radials are the way to go
