RE: nitro drift

I agree. i have a .18 Nitro Drifter... I use ABS... its holds up better...

RE: nitro drift

the reason most don't drift nitro is because it's hard on the motor to do long high rpm runs and it destroys clutch shoes....but i have a nitro and yes i drift it

Newkid Nailed it Smack on

The Reason why People Go Electric Over Nitro is 3 Reasons.
1. Electric has more Throttle Control
2. Running Costs are lower with Electric
3. Drift Wears Out Clutches.Brake Shoes and because the Engine isnt getting mmuch Airflow over it, they can overheat and Crack

yeah well, i drift nitro too, and sure it may be more expensive, but i bought a nitro before i knew about rc drifting, and now i cant afford another car[:-] so i drift with the nitro. and i dont have nay proof that its hard on the clutch...because yes i am in the proces of waiting for a new one to come in, but the old one lasted me almost 2 years and its still good, just not the best and its gonna start scoring the bell soon[:'(]

RE: nitro drift

yea I did the same thing as Silent Echo... but the only prob I had... lol i totally grinded the one way bearing in my 1st gear.... and nitro drifting is more exspencive... because you gotta buy fuel and alot of AA batterys... but electric... you can buy like 2 batterys and not spend anymore money...

Yo Nitro Drifting is so much COOLER then electric!!! You get the sound of raw power, the sent of fuel in your nostrils, and just pure intensity of true to life drifting. And NO drifting is cheep, so that can't be a factor. (just my thoughts)

RE: nitro drift

lol yea that is true where else are you gonna floor the car and see smoke come out of the exaust... and you not be in the car... lol feels good to have power over a gas powered car... but see I'm sneaky and run mine offa Whiskey... haha so I like when 20 mins flys by... I don't really have much fuel to run off of... half of goes in the car... and the rest in my tummylum... lol

RE: nitro drift

drifting nitro is fine just don't run pvc's on it run drift radials it'll last that much longer but if you run pvc's you'll kill the motor especially if you have two spd it'll kill the tranny but like i said it's possible

RE: nitro drift

what about fitting a fan to keep the engine cool? i have one on my electric drifter because it was getting to hot, really helps :D

Cas_NitroGT 08-16-2006 12:19 PM

RE: nitro drift

Haha yea I'm serious about the Whiskey... it gives the car an extra 7,000 rpm... so you can drift as long as you want before your car hits 2nd gear...

RE: nitro drift

Or before you Crack a motor Due to Excessive RPM's..

Nitro can drift but they are just not happy doing it..
