Just starting..

I was wondering, I'm new to the car scene, but i have been flying RC planes for about a year and a half, i would like to know what would be good for a beginner to start off with? Plus any tips anyone would like to share.

EDIT: Well i have been doing some searching and reviewing... and from what i see, for a beginner, a Tamiya TT-01 would be the best thing for me to go with. Plus the aluminum drive shaft and new ball bearings... but the thing is i don't want to have what everyone else has... i like to be different is there anything else out there that i could pick from?

www.towerhobbies.com. Find your ride here. Soon ill be gettin a ta04 off of www.tamiyaamerica.com. Then if you'd want somethin real different from tt01. What im gettin may be a good idea. If you can wait like 1 month and a half ill tell ya how it is. for now sprint 2's are excellent rides. talk to my friend magnat and he will tell you whats up.;)

If you want to be different then Take Spartans advise and go the TA-05.. It is a Belt Drive so please use caution when drifting ..

Whilst the HPI Sprint 2 is an Excellent Chassis, it is gaining in popularity for that reason.. The Sprint 2 is the TT-01 of the Belt Driven world and for good reason..

They Drift Superbly stock..

If it is different you want then go the TA-05 or fork out a Huge amount of Cash and go a TB EV05.

Being different does have its down side..

Choosing a Chassis that isnt Drift Proven can be a risk..
There is less online support..

You can always get a TT-01 and hop it up with the Motor and Hop up parts of YOUR choice. Which makes Your TT-01 an individual..

I Would still Recommend the TT-01 path as although it is a well trodden path, we know that it is safe and can be a Whole heap of fun..

If you truly want to be different, you might want to think about other brands. Sure you'll dish out more dough, but you really will be different. Here are some examples

Alex Racing Barracuda
Xray T2'007
Losi JRX-S Type-R
Hot Bodies Cyclone
Tech Racing Monster (At least that's what I think it's called)

HOw about the yokomo drift package?

it was originally the first chassis to be made specifically for drifting, I believe. Parts are hard to find, so If you find a source for parts, "STOCK UP"
