What makes a drifter

I have a friend who want "in". He is no stranger to building models and wants to build a drifter. So what make a drifter a drifter? We are flying blind here since neither of us are car guys. COuld you guys provide a few links and mabye some insight on what make one of these things a difter, the "do's and don'ts" and what ever else you want to include, please... Thanks guys. :)

What Makes a Drifter: Some one with a keen Attitude for going sideways..

What a Drifter needs:
Preferably an AWD Electric Chassis with a High Turn motor, Anything between 27T Pro Stock and 17x2T
ABS/PVC Tyres around a Set of Touring Car Rims
a Nice open Smooth surface to drift upon and a hell of a lot of practice and patience to get it right...

Batteries : Between 2700mah and 4200mah with a 12 Volt rapid Charger so Your not waiting 10 hours to Recharge one Battery also giving you the convieneince of charging on location from a 1:1 Scale Car..

Pistol Grip Controller as opposed to Stick although stick can be used.. Pistol has a better feel and more accurate adjustment needed for cars...

hehe i'd have to disagree with the transmitter part. stick type will work just fine. ive used both, and i like stick more, but overall, its whatever you prefer. i'm able to fine tune my turning and throttle with it better.
