Drifting in a parking lot in New Jersey. Just 3-4 of us that try and get together once a week for some drifting. Here are some pics of me getting bord at work today. I made a snowboard rack for my STi and also make some curved guardrails.

Update on the garage. Painted in Candy Black Cherry. Has Hyper White led strip under over hang. Getting another one for inside the garage too. Let me know what you think? Joe

LOL the build only took an hour and a half. Painting took 3 because I had to tape everything up and let it dry. I think it's bad ass and will look good when I meet up with me team and we get some good shots. LMAO

To be honest I set my car on the table and took a tape measure and started looking at number that would kind of be to scale for the garage. I wish the over hang was further out but the reason for it being a bit short was because it still needs to fit in my car. LOL I was planning on doing a 2 car garage but that would have been around 35in long and 13in deep.
The wood I got from Michaels Arts & Crafts. I found them to be half the price of AC Moore craft store. The wood is 1/8x12x24, $3.99 a sheet. Also used 1/2 square dowel rods, cut in 2 inch strips and a bit of crazy glue to hold everything together. Turns out the crazy glue is 10x stronger than using wood glue and dries in seconds. You'll also find in the craft store really thin wood. Which is what I used for the trim around the roof. It came 4x24 and was super thin, maybe like 1/8 inch. I should have gone with something a little stiffer but it'll do for now. I have ideas for murals on the walls and on the inside wall of the overhang. I'll post up once that's done. Probably on Tuesday when I'm off. |

Yeah car audio is my thing. Also do some minor custom system too. Nothing too crazy. What you see in the shop is my radio set-up. Products of me being bord when busy was a bit slow over the summer.

I had a customizing shop for over 15 years, did custom sound installs too. Rockford Fosgate and JBL sponsored two of my cars. We use to spray form panels for enclosures, man that stuff smelled gooooood!

Joey, had did you build the garage? Is it all just a single piece of wood? Did you glue the wood to something that's underneath?
I can't figure out how to glue such thin pieces of wood together. I plan on building a garage tomorrow but I need some help with construction. |

The sheets of wood are 1/8thick and are 12x24 inches and i needed 6 of them to make this garage. The small square pieces of wood you see on the inside holding everything together are 2 inch sections cut from a 1/2 square dowel rod that was 24inches long. Believe it or not I used crazy glue to attach the square dowel pieces to the sheets of wood. Wood glue and hot glue would work but the crazy glue bounded fast and holds super strong. Plus it didn't require much, just a small dap and it's on there. Now that I think about it, I should have done a "how-to" with step by step pics. It would have make a lot more sense. LOL I'll try and use some of the scrap pieces I have at work today to show you how easy everything can go together.

Here's something I threw together real quick at work today to better explain how to get the garage together.
Cut you piece's making sure all edges are clean and line up perfectly. http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n.../Garage022.jpg Then line your pieces up and draw a line on the back side so you know where it sits http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n.../Garage023.jpg http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n.../Garage024.jpg Once thats done remove the piece of wood and get your 1/2 square dowel pieces ready to lay out. Using some crazy glue. Run a light line along side of the making you just made for the wall and apply you dowel piece. http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n.../Garage025.jpg What you have left over is simply the edge, just big enough to mount the wall flush with the other piece. Apply a little CA to the dowels side and line up your wall for install. http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n.../Garage026.jpg Add 1/2 dowel piece where you see fit. Some areas on mine needed more than others to make it stiffer and less flimsy. Really hope this helps. Joe |
