Diff between TT-01 and TT-01D?!
iguess this is another noob question.. sorry everyone.
Just want to know what is the exact difference between the TT-01 and the TT-01D in terms of the chassis.. and i guess a more important question is how these difference affect how well the car would drift or even whether these differences are necessary? and in the case if they are necessary? how can one go about converting a TT-01 to TT-01D spec? thanks for all the help. |
RE: Diff between TT-01 and TT-01D?!
the tt01 d spec comes with full bearings, oil dampers, stiffer springs, sport tuned 23 t motor, drift tires, and a few other things also. Its well worth the money!!

RE: Diff between TT-01 and TT-01D?!
I was going to get it but I didn't need the drift tires because I have my own. I spend the money, rather, on an aluminum shaft, carbon fiber brace, and bought Tamiya bearings.

lol the D in the title:) nah but it comes with what sneff said. but those drift tires it comes with may want to be replaced with another drift tire

In life, if it's hard taking the straight path, just go sideways..

RE: Diff between TT-01 and TT-01D?!
tt01d is cheap for the price, but also have a look at the tt01r which is better priced in my oppinion.

RE: Diff between TT-01 and TT-01D?!
I am more of a buy bone stock and build up person. but with all that stuff on a tt-01d it wouldn't be bad right off.

RE: Diff between TT-01 and TT-01D?!
i like building up aswell, but the cost and time you save, you can spend on making your driftier bling
|
RE: Diff between TT-01 and TT-01D?!
Another handy thing that the D comes with is the adjustable upper arm set so you can adjust the camber ;)
|
RE: Diff between TT-01 and TT-01D?!
yeah thats cool, dont you get those with the r aswell?
also sometimes the camber adjustment makes more trouble than fun with newbies!!! who set it too much. |

ORIGINAL: infernox tt01d is cheap for the price, but also have a look at the tt01r which is better priced in my oppinion. Agreed!! |
RE: Diff between TT-01 and TT-01D?!
i like the flexibility of being able to change the shock mounting angle... i like the possibility to change the settings to run around the parking lot or even to experiment with different settings to see how they affect the characteristic of the car. I have read from some posts that for drifting, u would want to have the shock to be mounted as vertical as possible... dont know if that is true or not. anyone can comment on this?
I have taking a look at the TT-01R and it looks pretty nice.. but someone was sayin from another post that the TT-01R is more for racing than drifting. As a summary of what my concerns are and what I am interested in... - new TT-01 kit that comes with the RX-7 body with a LED light kit - TT-01D with the scooby body - TT_01R - TB-02 (maybe even a TB-Evo IV if i somehow can find one that is not too expensive) So far from what what info I have gathered: TT-01D vs TT-01 drift tires, full ball bearings, 23T motor, aluminum motor heat sink, oil dampers, stiffer springs seems like this is the only kit that comes with a motor heat sink. Is this something that I want to consider for other cars if they dont have it, considering that for other cars, the motor would be probably geared down so that I get more torque and less power, and from my understanding that would heat up the motor more. so for TT01D I would probably go for the alloy propshaft as the extra hop-up from the getgo since it already has the ball bearing kit. TT-01R vs TT-01 alloy propshaft, ball bearings, 25T motor, oil filled shocks, 2 locations for damper attachment, spur gear set TB-02 - From my understanding, TB-02 does not come with alloy propshaft. so if it doesnt, then thats one of the things for sure I would go for. I am aware of the issue with the diff screws. It also has ball diff which from somewhere I have read that it is probably a better idea to go for bevel gear diff for the sake of less maintance. Is that true? and in terms of performance is ball diff better? for the different cars and the things that I would think of getting right away when I am goingto buy the car: - basic TT-01, alloy propshaft, full ball bearing kit, adjustable upper arm set, motor (from my search something like a 19T motor works well for drifting?!?) and maybe necessary spur gear set. - TT-01D + alloy propshaft - TT-01R + spring set and a body of my choice for the car i know that some ppl are more inclined to start with a basic kit and do the hop ups from the beginning.. but for me, I am quite sure that I am going to be drifting with this car.. so from the start I am going to be getting the right parts that I would need to drift. But from the list that I have from above, what would ppl say I should add(or maybe take out) to each kit in order to have a nice setup car for drifting. I just wanna gather all the info so I can go the the store in one shot and get a list of all the prices and see which option is better price-wise PS: I know that the TB-02 and the TBevoIV is quite a big jump from the TT-01 so for those I am willing to pay for a bit more money for; but that is only to say that the TB series are in general a much better car than the TT-01... is it? |
